“Rejecting a heightened need standard does not leave Presidents with ‘no real protection.’ To start, a President may avail himself of the same protections available to every other citizen.”
Looks like a remand. Our country lives.
The remand was for the New York State case.
Post is not understandable.
Nearly all cases are remanded to the court below. What matters is the longer content of the opinion and order, which is supposed to guide the action in the court below.
Now waiting for the Congress subpoenas decision.
Congress will NOT get access to Trump financial records!
The Court has vacated the decisions below in Mazars, and it holds that congressional subpoenas may be enforceable but that the courts below did not take account of all the possible separation of powers concerns. The case will this go on. So this issue is back in the hands of the DC and Second Circuits for now.
Actually despite the huge Drudge Banner saying Trump loses, the actual legal experts are calling it a Trump win. On the state of New York case, they ruled a president doesn’t have blanket immunity from a state subpeona there is a higher standard and remanded back to New York court for further consideration, which means the case will drag on in the courts for months if not years (the court will certainly have nothing by election day). And the Supreme Court ruled against the House subpeona on seperation of powers grounds so if anything it was a 1 and 1/2 win for Trump.
Congress will NOT get access to Trump financial records!

Certainly not before the election. This is GOOD NEWS.
We need to get access to members of Congress’s financial records so we can see how they become multi-millionaires.
Its going back to the lower court and Trump team can make further arguments.
If he wins reelection the rulings are probably bad news.
Great point.
We also need to see the financial records of the overlords..er Supreme Court "Justices".
