My Job Is Talking About Race, And Yet I Dread Talking About It At Work. Here's Why.
Huffington Post ^ | June 25, 2020 | Jodi M. Savage

I am used to talking about race. I am a Black woman and an attorney. I am also an equal employment opportunity officer, a position referred to as chief diversity officer in some organizations.

My office investigates employees’ allegations of discrimination based on race, sex, disability, sexual orientation and other categories specified in various laws. Employees’ complaints have included accusations of sexual harassment, harassment because of a disability, being called a racial epithet and being denied a salary increase because of their race or gender. In addition to making determinations about whether discrimination has occurred in particular cases, I also advise managers on how to comply with anti-discrimination laws and how to achieve a more diverse workplace.

You must have honest and courageous conversations about how you participate in systemic racism and how you engage in acts of anti-Blackness and racism.

That does not sound like a "conversation" to me.

Why isn’t age listed as a discrimination trait in her investigations?

The whole irony is the more like this woman talk, the more white people will want to avoid interacting with African-Americans at the job.

She’s sick it because she realizes that as a “diversity officer” she’s a token hire, for a fake job that elitists and leftists created for political manipulation and cover.

Corporate America is a mess right now due to the Marxists taking over HR departments. Political coercion should be outlawed in the workplace.

Her article's assertion is that she doesn't talk about race with white people, because "most white people are not interested in having honest conversations about race, white supremacy or white privilege. "

Here is one of her examples of her having a "conversation" with a white person:

a white colleague with whom I was very friendly told me his wife would never vote for Obama or any Black person because Black female supervisors had fired her in the past.

“Your wife is a racist, and so are you for lying next to her every night,” I responded. White folks who fail to check their racist relatives do not get Brownie points for telling me stories about their racist relatives. He didn’t speak to me for a month but then finally apologized.

No wonder white people don't want to talk to her. She is the diversity officer, and I would assume she is supposed to help people deal with things, and her response to "my wife was unjustly fired by a black supervisor so she won't vote for Obama" is "you are a racist unless you divorce her". Not "Here is how you could help her get over this prejudice".

When you eventually have to deal with these political officers, just remember this Russian joke from the Brezhnev era:

Foreign reporter: What is your opinion on farm collectivization?
Soviet citizen: I agree with the policy of the party.

Foreign reporter: What is your opinion on the steel production goals?
Soviet citizen: I agree with the policy of the party.

Foreign reporter: Don’t you have any opinions of your own?
Soviet citizen: Yes. But I don’t agree with them.

Holy crap. The kind of person many of us have to deal with. A race and gender obsessed person. It is their work to be obsessed with it.

I am not going to the Huffington Post to read it, either.

"I am also an equal employment opportunity officer, a position referred to as chief diversity officer in some organizations."

And the fact is that for decades virtually every large company and every governmental entity of any size has such an officer and an entire staff or department devoted to this purpose. This is one more reason that the claim that the country is deeply embedded in "structural racism" is such a whopper.

For nearly sixty years, society has made a massive effort to push racial discrimination and bigotry to the margins and dark corners of society. Public expressions of racism are quickly punished. We even monitor behavior for "micro-aggressions," subtle - often unintentional - violations of an unwritten code of racial protocols.

The only "structural racism" remaining is the left's anti-"whiteness" movement which has made serious inroads into academia, government, and the corporate world.
