It is very likely not harmful if the machine is properly rinsed and the right amount of cleanser is used. Toxicity often depends on the amount of the substance involved. Even substances that are benign in smaller amounts can be toxic at larger doses.
Ice machines are another piece of equipment health inspectors zero in on. Much for the same reason.
Agree completely. If challenges reality that the only three customers to get the tainted shakes were cops. It’s called Shake Shack for a reason.

I used to work at McDs and would sometimes be the one to clean the shake machine.
You DO NOT leave ANYTHING in it for any reason.
That was a deliberate attempt to poison them.
