PBS pledge break time. Showing the series. Retirement/coronavirus is doing it to me. It seems America is fascinated with the Brits and their 'proper' behavior among the uppers. Go back 100 years, throw in TODAY's social discrepancies and you've got quite a formula. The castle backdrop and fashion will get the ladies hooked. I'm watching but not getting caught up in it.
Anyone watching Letterkenny?
Watched it a few years back.
1st season was excellent television.
You need to get out and have a beer with the boys.
Wife is a huge fan. Me, not so much. I enjoyed “Jambusters,” but it was discontinued before it finished. Very annoying.
I also enjoyed the WWII drama about occupied Poland, and the Polish Underground; forget the title of the series. It’s on hiatus ‘til next season. I hope the BBC doesn’t abandon that one, too.
I watched paint dry , just as exciting
I saw the movie. There is one subplot where one of the guys turns out to be gay. Surprisingly there is not as much class struggle nonsense as I would expect.
Liberal derck - all of PBS
Time of Honor (Czas Honoru). Great series!
Oh, wait you’re thinking of “World on Fire”, sorry I don’t do faggotry, though.
The actress who plays the Polish girl, was in a great movie called “Warsaw 44”, highly recommend that.
The obligation to cut down the high society is apparent. Elizabeth McGovern is the American wife to the good guy Duke. The matriarch is not likable gets put in her place from time to time by her ‘equal’(a nurse)who comes to live there. Throw in the American mother of McGovern and the whole country is put down.
Crazy - hubby just finished and I am on season 3. Sick of all this garbage and wanted to see some civility.
I watched it until the homo stuff started. I want to say I made it maybe 12 minutes?
Nope. Haven’t seen anything more than commercials for it. And those nearly put me to sleep.
Women like it. They all want to dress and look beautiful. Then you throw in how they manage to get into trouble. Here a lady loses her virginity, her sister marries an Irish hothead, and the 3rd gets stood up after she puts the moves on a married farmer. Waiting for the house of cards to fall.
The entire run is really good, and the movie isn’t bad. The final season got a little bit stupid, but even one of the best shows of all time can’t be free from liberal narratives forever.
I watch Downton with the sound off, and listen to an episode of Deadwood.
Downton Abbey - A study of the problem of what to with an aristocracy when wars are few, duels outlawed & there are no jousting tournaments to cull the numbers.
LOL, that’s pretty much what it boils down to.
