After a rare moment of actual honesty, the World Health Organization has now returned to its normal obfuscation and narrative engineering. Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, the WHO’s technical lead on the Wuhan Virus, created a firestorm on Monday when she went off-script and admitted publicly that asymptomatic people “very rarely” transmit the virus to others.
That admission, which has become increasingly apparent over time to anyone really following the data trail on the virus’s spread, effectively meant that pretty much everything we have done as a society in response the virus has been wrong. It means that the right approach all along would have been to quarantine those who have tested positive, protect the vulnerable elderly and those with pre-conditions by having them stay at home, and effectively treat those who became ill.
Instead, based faulty guidance from inept “experts,” catastrophically inaccurate statistical models, dishonest toadying by the WHO on behalf of the ChiCom government and rampant hysteria in the global news media, we shut down the economy, threw tens of millions out of work and destroyed hundreds of thousands of businesses. Even worse, we still have a dozen or more Democrat governors keeping their states locked down for purely political motives. All based on a false narrative perpetuated by the WHO.
Obviously, this could not stand, especially since Dr. Kerkhove’s admission destroys any shred of justifications for governors like Gretchen Whitmer and Ralph Northam to keep their states in lockdown mode through November. Thus it was that Dr. Kerkhove was back in the media today claiming that she had been misunderstood, and that she had sort of, kind of misspoken.

She said during a live Q & A that streamed on social media, “I was responding to a question at the press conference. I wasn’t stating a policy of WHO or anything like that. I was just trying to articulate what we know. And in that, I used the phrase ‘very rare,’ and I think that that’s a misunderstanding to state that asymptomatic transmission globally is very rare. I was referring to a small subset of studies.”

“We do know that some people who are asymptomatic or some people who don’t have symptoms can transmit the virus on,” she said. Then she added that she was relying on “two or three studies”, as well as unpublished reports from some countries to the WHO for her statement. Then she tried to explain that based on some models (mind you not studies), the virus could have a higher rate of infection transmission from asymptomatic persons to others.
“Some estimates of around 40 percent of transmission may be due to asymptomatic, but those are from models, and so I didn’t include that in my answer yesterday but wanted to make sure that I covered that here,” she said.

Get that? She was referring to peer-reviewed scientific studies and unpublished reports from some countries when she made her statement, from which she really did not actually back off. But then she goes on to say that, well golly, some models show the virus could have a high rate of asymptomatic transmission.
Oh. You mean like the models that told us back in March that 2 million Americans would be dead by now? Those models?
So, it’s like the Climate Change scam, then: Who are you gonna believe, our models or your own lyin’ eyes?
In the end Dr. Kerkhove said just enough today to provide the media/Democrat hysteria factory with the propaganda it needed to prop up its false narrative for a little longer.
These people are despicable. Enemies of the people, one and all.
