You might have thought it was surprising, shocking, perhaps even inappropriate, that retired military brass, particularly those like James Mattis who served as aides to President Trump, have spoken out in criticism of him.
You might also have thought that Trump-hater par excellence Nicolle Wallace would have been thrilled by their statements. But Wallace is apparently a tough person to please. On her MSNBC show this afternoon, Wallace expressed her "burning rage" that the military leaders didn't speak out sooner!

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t support an aggressive foreign policy at the time. I did. But in hindsight, we know now it was a mistake. The problem with the Middle East is that it will remain a perennial quagmire until the ideology of the Death Cultists are finally purged. Replacing one regime of Death Cultists with another will not change the problem, ever.
As I said elsewhere, I’d rather Israel conquer the Middle East from the Indian border clear through to Morocco and eliminate that “problem” for the good of humanity.
