TDS is apparently such a powerful force that it seems to be able to cause a highly respected medical journal, The Lancet, to drop its usual professionalism and publish a horribly flawed study on hydroxychloroquine. See, President Donald Trump recommended the use of HCQ if prescribed by a doctor and that apparently was enough for some medical professionals to cast caution to the wind and produce a fraudulent study that seemed designed to prove that HCQ is not only supposedly ineffective but dangerous as well.
Fortunately this fraud has now been exposed and clinical trials on HCQ have resumed. Unfortunately, HCQ does not seem to be able to cure terminal TDS.
Yes.
Rancid, er, Lancid is a very anti trump publication. There is the answer.
PING!
PING!
Even The Lancet is starting to walk back that study.

Good thread with lots of quality recent papers / links, besides that one.
Lancet has published other politicized “studies”, including papers on the effect of the U.S. boycott of Iran, number of civilian causalities from the Gulf War. Funny, all their “flawed” studies have an anti-American bias.
The other studies were not so easily and thoroughly debunked as this one.
“...Did Extreme TDS Cause Publication of Incredibly Flawed HCQ Study?...”
Do bears poo in the woods?
BTW, where is that little traitorous, communist, PIAPS-loving twerp, Fauxi, been lately. Hopefully, locked up at GITMO.
The AMA has long been lost to the wack left and political correctness. Follows that publications like a The Lancet have fallen off. They and others can no longer be trusted. A dangerous state.
I would differ on the usual “Big Pharm” corporate greed angle.
Based on the multiple attack vectors we have seen since November 2019, it was more likely part of the Leftist Putsch - shaping the battlefield in preparation for the insurrection to go live as of last month.

Richard Horton, editor-in-chief of the prominent British medical journal The Lancet in an interview with CCTV on Friday, noting that the world should work together with Chinese authorities to understand the virus.

2 May: Steerpike: from Spectator UK: Lancet editors Chinese propaganda
Ever since the coronavirus first began to spread in the UK, one of the governments staunchest critics has been the editor-in-chief of the Lancet, Richard Horton. In late March, he suggested that Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson were playing roulette with the public and said on Question Time that the governments response to the virus was a national scandal...
But Mr S has spotted that Horton seems to be far more forgiving when it comes to other countries response to the virus. Yesterday, the Lancet chief appeared on the Chinese news show Xinwen Lianbo. The programme is produced by the state-owned broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV)...

15 May: WaPo: Lancet editorial blasts Trumps inconsistent and incoherent coronavirus response
by Derek Hawkins & John Wagner
One of the worlds oldest and best-known medical journals Friday slammed President Trumps inconsistent and incoherent national response to the novel coronavirus pandemic and accused the administration of relegating the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to a nominal role.
The unsigned editorial from the Lancet concluded that Trump should be replaced.
Americans must put a president in the White House come January, 2021, who will understand that public health should not be guided by partisan politics, said the journal, which was founded in Britain in 1823...
Medical journals sometimes run signed editorials that take political stances, but rarely do publications with the Lancets influence use the full weight of their editorial boards to call for a president to be voted out of office...
Lancet editor(-in-chief) Richard Horton has decried the British governments response to the pandemic in editorials and public statements published under his name...

I remember The Lancet from the Iraq story. They make The Rolling Stone look like Breitbart.
I wonder who financed the study. The Lancet has a history of publishing un-reviewed flawed scientific studies on, among other topics, gun deaths, vaccination, and way back to scoffing at the use of antiseptics in surgery. Getting them to admit their error is like pulling teeth.
Apparently the “sponsor” was a shell company with three employees owned by the author, who is an Indian. He saw an opportunity to take advantage of Lancet’s bias and get himself some free publicity.
Lancet should not be taken seriously as a medical journal.
True, but they also published Lister's pioneering articles promoting antisepsis.
Wasn't that about two centuries ago? A lot has changed since then. I can actually remember when Broward was the most Republican county in Florida.
