Oddly I am glad the cops were there. They formed a line between the defenders of the Alamo and the rioters. The cops had their backs to the good guys bearing rifles and side arms. They faced the rioters.

The cops knew who the good guys were.

Those bastards given a chance would have burned my sacred state's treasure down. It should also be noted if one goes to the Alamo their are many hispanic names on they walls as defenders of the Alamo.

Exactly what happened here in my small city.....police got wind there would be a protest Sunday. They got all the various police and other groups ready. From volunteer Vets (open carry and otherwise) to guard the city's monuments etc. And notified Business owners (packing) who stood in front of all the stores.

As soon as two protesters began a fight with each other it was declared an "Unlawful Assembly" and in came the police and swat vehicle to break it up... Two officers were assulted and the persons arrested Immediately. Curfew set, took one hour to drive about 300-400 protesters down a side street and cleared them out.

There were no protests here until Sunday. And there had never been protests of this nature here before..

That didn't work for those Koreans guarding their businesses during the 1992 LA riots. LAPD went from "To Serve and Protect" to "To Run and Hide". Those Korean shops were spared due to the actions of their owners, not LAPD.
