They resort to scare tactics because they work. Too well. I was on a zoom call last night with a group of of family friends. All of them, men and women, were saying that shutdowns were ending too soon, that schools shouldn't open in the fall, that they're scared to go out without masks on, etc.

They are all lefties (what can I say, New Jersey) so I kept my mouth shut because now days saying 'the science is clear and this isn't anywhere near as dangerous as they said' would get me dismissed as a Fox news talking point robot. they fail to see the irony on spouting CNN/MSNBC talking points and accusing anyone who actually thinks as being a robot.

But I had thought that society was ready to boil over and start openly defying this stay at home stuff. It was a rude awakening that many have accepted the collars around their necks and don't want to give them up.
