However, the article suggests that Trump can delay until after election day. That’s key.

As I’ve said before, for a “lawless” President, he sure wins a lot of court cases.

I am not convinced thats a good strategy. Most likely if it were harmful to Trump then Mueller would have already made it public.

The Supreme Court will almost certainly agree to hear this case, in which case this order says the records wouldn’t be released before the Court rules; a ruling would be next year.

Why are they going to this much trouble? Why don’t they just leak it?

They want the classified Grand Jury records, which Schiff-For-Brains and his evil, flying monkey brigade DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO, so they CAN leak it.
Mueller, Weissman and their minions realize that right now, the circle of access is just too small to chance releasing it. Leaking Grand Jury testimony is a felony, and as I recall (though I may be wrong,) carries a 10 year sentence.

Plus, if they get it, they can leak selectively and “paraphrase” it so that a=not a.

VERY bad precedent for Grand Jury testimony being made public.

Leaking Grand Jury testimony is a felonyAnd for good reason. Who would ever be a cooperative or truthful witness if his testimony weren't guaranteed to remain confidential?

They don’t care, Ann.
Look at what they did to Attorney/Client privilege.
But, seriously, THAT would be monumental. To release Grand Jury material would just top every evil deed that they possess.

- The Chinese Oil Grab (China is working hard to win oil reserves, you need to overweight on oil) [10/03/2009]
The Chinese government is in a massive resource grab in Africa... trying to buy 6 billion barrels of oil that is already spoken for via leases to Exxon, Chevron , Royal Dutch Shell, and Total SA... China has recently been frustrated by Libya's veto of a $462 million bid by China National Petroleum Corp., or CNOOC , for Verenex Energy and Angola's state owned Sonangol. Libya wants to block the sale of an oil field stake to CNOOC Ltd and China Petrochemical Corp. In a sign of China's desperation, a Chinese state bank just loaned $30 billion to Petrochina, the largest company in the world measured by stock market capitalization. Petrochina, which recently paid $1.7 billion for interests in oil sands projects in Canada, along with its brethren, CNOOC and Sinopec, have pledged to step up acquisitions of energy reserves and refineries overseas to take advantage of oil prices that are less than half of what they were at the 2008 peak. Chinese and Russian oil companies have also pledged to invest $36 billion in Venezuelan oil properties the next five years.
