It never made sense to me.
Last October Catherine Herridge left Fox News for CBS News after being at Fox for 23 years. She is a fabulous reporter whose works are impeccable. If she reported it, you could make bank on it. Jay Wallace, president of Fox News Media, said of Herridge:
" We are grateful for Catherine's many contributions to the network, wish her continued success and were proud to honor her as she received the Tex McCrary Award for Journalism last week from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for her enterprise reporting at Fox News."The George Costanza of CNN, also known as Brian Stelter, framed her departure this way:

Sounds as though she was angry with Fox, right? Later on in the article you find this:
Oh that Costanza....Some journalists at the network have complained about a lack of space for real reporting and described feeling squeezed out by the right-wing talk shows that President Trump and his supporters prefer.
It is unknown whether Herridge felt those frustrations. She frequently appeared on Fox's opinion shows with her reporting, as well as daytime newscasts.
But like I said, to me this made no sense. CBS is or was the domecile of the likes of Dan Rather and Scott Pelley, two long time partisan hacks. Then there's Joy Reid, who regularly attempts to impugn Trump at press conferences frequently in matters regarding China.
Her husband is a lobbyist for China.
This does not seem the proper milieu for Herridge, whose work has always been unassailable and spot on accurate. I keep wondering why CBS would want someone unafraid to tell the truth- especially when it comes to democrats and barack obama. It was only going to be a matter of time before the left wing media pulled out the knives for her if she touched that third rail.
That time has come.
Herridge's first offense was interviewing AG Bill Barr and actually allowing him to talk. That was the interview that the loathsome Chuck Toad of NBC deceptively edited to make Barr sound evil.
Her most egregious offense was to report on the list (released by Acting DNI Rick Grenell) of those involved in the unmasking of Gen. Michael Flynn

You'll note that the last person on the list is Joe Biden. When asked about this by Stephanopoulos, Biden was totally flummoxed.
Biden, as does Trump, has a rapid response team, led by one Andrew Bates. Bates took to Twitter and unleashed a beauty at Herridge.

You'll note that it was so nasty that even the CNN hack Jake Tapper was offended. I doubt he would have been so upset had Herridge still been at Fox News.

It’s not why did CBS hire her. It’s why did she go to CBS. Go back to FOX. She is good.

I’ve always admired the prim and proper and Catherine exemplified that. I felt I could always trust her reportage so it was no surprise that Mr. Grenell entrusted her to break the story on the unmasking perps.
The Left worked years to destroy journalism and turn it into a partisan attack machine. They can’t allow some truth teller sneaking back into the big networks and newspapers. I think that they are messing with the wrong woman.
They adored Donald Trump, showered him with accolades, until they realised he was a man of truth who wouldn't parrot their groupthink. Look what happened then!

Why was there a list of people ‘unmasking’ Flynn? Why wouldn’t just one of them doing it be good enough?
Sharyl Attkisson left SeeBS under the same pressure Catherine Herridge is receiving for truth telling.
I remember that she sued Fox News a few years ago. Something to do with her contract and not getting enough assignments. She took some time off from reporting, (maternity leave or breast cancer treatment?). Apparently she won her lawsuit against Fox News and was reinstated.
Maybe that’s why Fox let her go.
What’s with the Liberal 2020 War on Women?
I always appreciated that she had great high level sources, usually had a firm grasp on the issue she was reporting, and never applied spin to her reporting. Not left or right, just the story.
Not a good fit for CBS, where you must find some way to ignore, twist and misrepresent facts to hurt the right.
She is, by far, my favorite journalist. I could tell from the earliest reports she did on Fox that she had credibility. I can’t say enough good things about her. I hope she continues to do her usual top notch work.
It sounds like she is directly over the target.

??? I think he’s got the wrong Reid - he means Paula Reid.
I have no idea why she jumped into the Fake News pool at CBS.
She should have joined justthenews.com with John Soloman or join Sheryl Atkisson at her website.
