I see few if any people advocating keeping things locked down, but it is ridiculous that you can’t even post the numbers, news or research anymore without being ridiculed.

I appreciate the people who work so hard to bring us information. What people do with that is their business.

What I am saying is that if you are so scared of freedom go to another nation which controls their citizens! If you are so scared of the virus, you can stay at home, while the rest of us live our lives. And I say that as someone who is over 65 years old with cancer. I never expected to see such cowardice on a conservative site like FR!

Also, 100,000 dead in a population of over 300 million means it virtually certain you WON’T die if you catch the virus UNLESS you are old or have other health conditions. So, you have exposed yourself as a coward who needs to hide in his home with pajama boy.

Statements like, "so what if a 100,000 died", is beyond the pale coming from someone claiming to hold conservative values and principles. Or, as your ID might indicate, claims to uphold the Declaration in which said Declaration holds LIFE as it's first of many unalienable rights. Not to mention the right of free speech, which is what I and others intend to exercise.

To sum your statements up in a nutshell, they are obviously made by someone who's only recourse is to project their pathetic, ignorant, and self-centered cowardice on someone else. It's you who are too fearful, and too lacking in knowledge of how to protect yourself, who is hiding in their home.

It's you who is scare shitless when you hear that the CV boogeyman is still rampaging and just want someone to make it go away - even if they have to tell you a lie to do so.

For now, I have to go to Walmart and Lowes...later.

As to CV getting more attention than previous diseases; the internet plays role; the number of deaths in only four short months (no deaths in the US until the end of February) plays a role; the novel, unknown aftereffects, and possibly man-made origins also plays a role.

More than that is the pervasive, prevaricating perverted MSM in an era when due to mobile devices, it seems most of the masses are likely to just read the headlines that they are fed and little more.

The original comment was that 100,00 wasn’t two million, which you then whined about ‘was too high’ anyway. People die during outbreaks of disease, that is the reality of life-deal with it. The original intent of the lockdown wasn’t to prevent people from getting the virus, but to able to treat those who did. Now hospitals are going out of business because of your idiotic, cowardly notion that the nation must be shut down until not a single person doesn’t die from the virus! I am not afraid of the CV, I am urging a compete opening up of the economy! So, the one lying is yourself, who is terrified that Americans may reclaim our God given freedoms, one of which is the ‘pursuit of happiness’. So, anyone who defends the unconstitutional lockdowns is a coward-which would seem to be you, not me.
Amazing how those stores can be open and others cannot! Who decided that? Don’t forget your Red Chinese mask when you do your shopping!

100k deaths should be crossed by the 25th of May 2020

Yep:

•Blue line represents projected death totals.
•Yellow line are actual death totals based on WorldofMeters.info data.
•Purple line is actual case numbers offset by 14 days.
•Red line represents projected daily deaths.

That would be a sad statistic. The 25th of May looks very realistic.

The situation in June is fluid - while NY and NJ are going down, the numbers are rising in the heartland.

The question is - would the deaths have been higher if we didn’t have the lockdowns?

I take Sweden - which went on, what we may call self-enforced lockdown, where the majority stayed at home, where they wore masks and where they already have social distancing (56% of households are single person households, compared to just 27% in the USA) — they still have had 3871 deaths so far, compared to 796 for Denmark-Norway (which has comparable size and population and culture) - that’s nearly 5 times the deaths. We can say that in a less self-isolated and trusting culture, the death rate could have been at least 5 times higher.

So the US death rate could have been, if there were no lockdown measures at all, theoretically based on the Sweden vs Nor-Den examples, at least 1MM in 3 months. That’s definitely worthy of making people sit up and notice

the “counting” of covid deaths is fairly inconsistant it seems and includes people who have not been tested at all and are just presumptive....

Actually, comparing the number of deaths that is a specious comparison, versus deaths per million, and which shows that Sweden at 384 has a lot but slightly more than the Netherlands at 337, and less than France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Belgium... Moreover, a moderate approach is expected to result in more infections but also a more stable decreased rate in the long term, while you are not considering the long-term effects and deaths that the stranglehold shutdowns will result in. 1. Comparing the deaths per million between Sweden 389/million while Norway 43/million and Denmark 97/million. Norway-Denmark with a population of 11 million has a deaths/million of about 70. sweden with 10.5 million has 389. That’s about 5 times.

2. You can also compare Sweden to Norway/Denmark as they are similar in terms of population and area.

you can’t compare Sweden to France, Italy, US, UK - the size and population density is quite different.

however you can compare it to Norway-Denmark:
1. The population size is similar: 10 to 11 million
2. The area (excluding Greenland) is similar
3. The population density is similar
4. The culture is similar

So this is the perfect contrast to make — and in this Sweden RIGHT NOW looks bad with 4 to 5 times the death rate even if they did implement a virtual lockdown.

We can only be 100% which model was better in 2022. But right now it looks like the Swedish model failed — just about 7% of the population has antibodies and the death rate is significantly higher, whether in raw numbers or numbers/million compared to Norway/Denmark

Even if one knocks off 20% as inconsistent, the numbers are still rising in the heartland while going down in NJ/NY — as the virus spreads to the heartland after ravaging the coasts

Good to see you using death per 1M, and that is good research, except that while Norway makes a fair match in population density at 44 per mile to 60 on Sweden, you cannot use Denmark at 350 per mile, excluding Greenland and Faroe Islands, which you cannot include.

However, below is a chart I made up with actually shows that Sweden looks worse, except that having more people infected and recovered can be better in the long run, and stats show those who die with Covid usually are those who are have serious issues and are likely to die soon regardless, and a more healthy economy and lifestyle is also better in the long run. What till you see the massive long-term damage this Covid captivity - which is promoted for political power purposes - results in.

it would be good if you read before copy pasting.

i said Norway/Denmark excluding Greenland — Norway-Denmark are equivalent in population, area and population density to Sweden.

And with that, they are also culturally similar since the Kalmar era and earlier.

Sweden however has 5 times as many deaths per million as Norway-Denmark combined (taking N-D excluding Greenland as a single unit).

Net-net, Sweden’s policy is resulting in 5 times as many deaths (whether in total or in deaths per million) — showing that lockdowns DO save lives

The problem is people don’t read — here are excerpts from my post 134

“Norway-Denmark with a population of 11 million”

“The area (excluding Greenland) is similar”

“So this is the perfect contrast to make — and in this Sweden RIGHT NOW looks bad with 4 to 5 times the death rate even if they did implement a virtual lockdown.”
