What Mothers Need To Make Us Strong
When families are strong, the nation is strong.
What makes families strong is love and that love is centred on the mother.
Australias most conservative recent Prime Minister was a staunch opponent of unnecessary taxes.
But he had his own proposal to tax big business to protect and nurture the family.
He wanted every mother on incomes up to $AUD150,000 (much closer to $100,000 in US dollars on typical exchange rates) to be able to have 6 months fully paid leave to be with a new baby. The $AUD150,000 cap was reduced to $AUD100,000 before the policy was abandoned, owing to the strange combination of feminist and conservative opposition.
It was intended to be funded by a 2% levy on Australias biggest companies.
Prime Minister Abbott wanted to make breast feeding easier and more widespread to improve the nations health.
He wanted to make motherhood more attractive and thereby make abortion less attractive.
He wanted birth rates to improve an essential component of passing on the culture for any group of people.
The policy will never be revived in the Coronavirus world.
But I still revere Tony Abbott for caring about mothers.
Lol. We used to lick the cows saltlick block.
He wanted to make motherhood more attractive and thereby make abortion less attractive.
And that's really the only solution to the abortion problem. We can lobby to overturn Roe vs. Wade until we're blue in the face. Until we change the hearts and minds of these women and support motherhood abortion will still happen, legally or illegally.
The policy will never be revived in the Coronavirus world.
Why not? From what I've seen Australia has done a very good job at flattening the curve. Australia looks ready to open up again, if you haven't already.
