Curiously (or not), it was Maxine Waters who spilled the beans of Obama spying on citizens (earliest date I can find is 2/12/2013 youtube upload of the clip by UETVNews). Way before June 2013 Edward Snowden's revelation.

Additionally, tens-of-thousands of searches were identified by the FISA court as likely extending much further than the compliance review period...
There were tens-of-thousands of unauthorized search queries; and as Judge Collyer stated in her report, there is no reason to believe the 85% non compliant rate was any different from the abuse of the NSA database going back to 2012.
As you will see below the NSA database was how political surveillance was being conducted during Obama’s second term in office. However, when the system was flagged, and when NSA Director Mike Rogers shut down “contractor” access to the system, the system users needed to develop another way to get access.
What's missing from this analysis is cross-referencing the NSA database searches with the hundreds of unmasking requests of Americans supposedly requested by Samantha Power, United Nations Ambassador.
This is a story that has been entirely overlooked by everyone. I think the illegal unmasking is the intelligence scandal that EVERYONE in Washington wants to avoid, because they all knew where it leads.
However, that cat is now out of the bag. It will be impossible to not question if the unmasking of Americans followed these NSA database metadata searches, once the specific calls were identified.
The weak link has always been Samantha Power; what is the need of the United Nations Ambassador for unmasking hundreds of Americans' phone calls to foreigners? Was she being used as a stooge to cover for the real unmaskers? Were here authentications compromised or being used by others to do the unmasking?
So far, nobody has recently tried to pursue this.

You’ve got that part right, sister. If we are lucky, and voters massively reject Democrats’ ‘mail-in’ fraud, we may be fortunate enough to see a second Trump term.
Yet I worry that tenuous foothold Trump manage to gain in the 8 years of reprieve could soon be washed away. Who is there to follow President Trump? That’s something to worry about later.
Sorry, I still can not stand listening to that evil bastid. So I’ll just trust the transcript.

I was just thinking, “How is this any different from what Nixon tried to do?”
Panicing over what? Senate hearings? House hearings? Being indicted in DC? They could care less because the corrupt never convict the corrupt! Now one is sweating over nothing, because Barr and Durham are deep staters and nothing eill happen, unless Trump suspends this worthless government, declares himself dictator and personally rounds these scumbags up himself and goes skeet shooting!
This technology aids very little, if at all in waging war. Although it has been sold that way. It was needed to fight the war on terrorism. Me thinks the intelligence community and other deep staters knew full well that the technology could be used to further political agendas, and they salivated over it. They used terrorism as the official reason to buy the tech.
Meanwhile, traditional methods of destroying the enemy were restrained. Obama even went so far as having rules of engagement that endangered the lives of our soldiers and Marines. The scourge of terrorism was never fully address in the field of battle. (Think of reconstituting and morphing terrorist organizations.) We never laid waste to the real enemy because we were politically correct and worried about collateral damage.
So to my point, we didn't secure ourselves from long-term terrorism. They will reconstitute and we will be attacked again.
Why would the deep state want terrorism to go away anyway? They don't. It is something that can be used as a ruse over and over again. It is a convenient distraction to grab more power. That leads me to the second half of my observation. We are less secure in our civil rights. Expanded government and expanded technology, originally sold as a panacea to terrorism, is easy to use for incorrect political purposes and to control people. Want proof? It was used in an attempt to disenfranchise 63,000,000 US citizens in a failed coup. All of this because of pencil necked deep staters want to feel a false sense of power.
The solution to this problem is obvious. Unfortunately too few people recognize we have a problem and know where the problem originates. And even if enough people recognized the problem and someone wanted to solve the problem, we would have to worry that in its solution another power grab was going to occur. This means solution needs to be quick and crude. By crude I mean massive parts of government need to be shuttered without examination and without building up other parts of government. Cut funding, turn off the computers and lock the doors at the end of the day. If we can survive months of a hoax shut-in, then we can survive securing our freedom and liberty

Exactly. But Clapper DID commit perjury when he lied to congress while under oath, and on national TV. His punishment? A contract with a propaganda network. It used to be good to be a friend of zero. Hopefully, in the very near future, it will be the prelude to a long prison sentence.
