The CDC standard requires only that the doctor filling out the paperwork suspects COVID-19 for the death to be recorded as COVID-19. The reason for suspicion is up to the doctor, perhaps with input from the hospital administrators who recognize that there is a greater payout from Uncle Sugar for COVID-19 cases.

You are right!
I think we are dealing with a population that is lazy and likes having an excuse to not work as long as they have enough money for rent, food, beer/pot, and Netflix, and also enjoys the vicarious thrill of hiding from a dangerous virus while demonizing everyone who says, “Hey look: people over 65 are not affected as badly as we previously thought and children are not at risk.” Oh, and hey, we’re slow and it’s complicated, but we may have conflated all flu deaths with COVID19. But don’t worry, we’ll get those totals up again, quickly, so you can feel virtuous.
How bad is this? People refuse to believe the incriminating stats from the very agency that was lying to begin with!
Insanity is holding 2 conflicting ideas at the same time while doing the same thing over and over regardless of results.
Once upon a time, when a kid had measles or chicken pox, parents herded them all together so everyone would get it and achieve immunity. This virus is way less severe for the majority of adults and not severe in most kids or those under 40.
But people caved to fear and were intimidated by guilt-tripping totalitarians with a political control agenda because they received 2x their wage & an extra $1200.
Bless those standing up for liberty. And everyone weeping about their elderly relatives and defenseless babies can stay home, imprison their parents and children and allow the world to go back to normal.
Once the government relief money disappears, they can figure out how to rejoin society.
As a vulnerable geezer, I am not afraid and will resist being imprisoned or forced to take any shot/vaccine/treatment until and unless I decide to do so on my own after doing my own research.
Our rights have been taken under color of law. Look at how easy it’s been!

Our children are now 50-52. Decades ago, my wife an RN organized sleep ins with all the neighboring kids and ours when measles or whatever broke out.
One of her SIL’s did the same thing in her hometown when her kids or a neighbor kid got measles/?.
Now those kids are in their 50’s and extremely healthy, and their grand kids got the same heads up.
That was for German measles,not regular measles.
I was responding to somebody who was using cherry picked data from the Chinese and Soros connected WHO, to misrepresent the trend and to stifle our opening up the country.
You should be criticizing the WHO and their cherry picked stats.
On average, COVID death stats are a 20 day lagging indicator.
You aren't using it to try and make a point about what is going on with today's infection rate, are you?
Actual numbers vs. political numbers.
The CDC takes initial reports of deaths as they come in.
Then it goes back and checks death certificates to see if
what was reported to them was accurate.
That’s all this is. It takes time to do, and they need a
copy of the death certificate, so it can take weeks to get
things together to research the actual cause of death.
This is actually the first thing I’ve seen evidence of the
CDC doing right. The media really loves to stir the pot.
