Is ANYONE getting gilead’s drug when they are first diagnosed with Covid and not in the hospital..yeah didnt think so.

You need something that can be given Day 1..not once you have to be hospitalized

Remdesivir is administered in an IV drip, so it can only be done in a hospital. As you mention, that’s way late. Plus it’s effectiveness is only slightly better than a placebo. And the placebo doesn’t cost $1,000 for a treatment.

Thanks for links to side effects of remdesivir. Yes, one has to scroll to the bottom to find the negative, the downside. I wonder why they even bother to report it at all.

Yet progressives will screech and make a mountain out of a molehill regarding HCQ side effects without pointing out that the HCQ side effects are very rare and its side effect profile is similar to aspirin.

Side effects are one thing, efficacy is another and there is no efficacy data on remdesivir worth publishing. There are only progressive reporter’s snarky comments.

It’s obvious to any serious medical research scientist that remdesivir media, patent holders, investors will do anything, say anything, to promote their product over the cheap HCQ treatments.

Right off the bat this Politico noob smears HCQ treatments:

“Over three weeks ago, hydroxychloroquine was all the rage in MAGA world, despite flawed and scattered evidence about whether the drug could help cure coronavirus.”

And then does nothing to report on efficacy of remdesivir against COVID-19/

Adding insult to injury, such progressives, including progressive governors, will mock Trump supporters as failing to heed science, when in fact they have no ‘science’ to offer themselves but will say they “listen to the science”. They resort to bullying in media to get viewers to discount treatments shown to work well that are not part of their ‘science’ even though they have no science.

They turn science into a game where they are a cheerleading squad on one side. It’s not only insulting and dangerous, it demeans the prestigious history of rigorous disciplined American science.

And they demonstrate the same nonsensical patterns of insults when screeching about ‘Climate Change’.

There was a NY Times report a month back on Dr. Zekenko who is a brilliant medical doctor and is one of the leaders of HCQ combination treatment.

The NY Times called Dr. Zelenko a “Right-Wing Star”.

Dr. Z is an Orthodox Jew of the Hasidic community.

But the NY Times writers had to turn successful HCQ treatments into a “right-wing vs. left-wing” issue.

The fake news media of today is literally insane.

It must be administered early according the chemical theory of its effectiveness! It failed the same tests as HCQ for the same reason, it interferes with replication. Replication! Replication! Wait till you have so much infection that you are doomed then take a drug that interferes with replication?

Do you have to be a right winger to see the stupidity of this?

Remdesivir was sent to Wuhan early in the outbreak, so WuXi App Tech and the Chinese Academy of Science immediately patented it.

WuXi App Tech is owned by the former ChiCom President’s son, and by George Soros. Surprise, surprise...

Hopefully Gilead can defeat this patent infringement.

And no wonder this political hack writer is backing the expensive Soros/CCP “remedy”.

I hope Remdesivir works well, and good on Gilead for developing it. My problem, though, is when I contrasted the glee which Fauci announced the results, a few days ago, with his attitude towards the successful HCQ+Zinc results.
Both were based on anecdotal data - not the full-blown 2 year blind study - but he throws cold water on HCQ+Zinc, and slobbers over Remsdesvir. And many more people have spoken about the good results achieved when using HCQ+Zinc (and Z-pak), as opposed to this one 'anecdotal' outcome when using Remsdesvir. I put Fauci's credibility at near zero.

All of this said, I understand the concerns regarding the 'anecdotal' outcome. Although the Wuhan Flu is extremely contagious, it isn't nearly as deadly as first advertised. It probably has an approximate 0.1% kill rate for those infected. One would need to design experiments using an excess of ten thousand subjects to get clear results (and to also knowingly deprive the promising medicine from other subjects - to have enough statistically significant dead subjects show up on the placebo side of the ledger).
That's the problem with these experiments - a person could reasonably have recovered on their own, and it had nothing to do with the drugs. I like the speculated arguments of why HCQ+Zinc works (HCQ opens up the pathway for Zinc to enter the blood system - and the Zinc prevents the virus from reeking its havoc), but I admit that I don't know if that has been proven - I just take it as a speculated theory.
Now if they ran the Remsdesvir experiments on a very sensitive population (with a 30% death rate) - those that we say HCQ isn't all that useful in helping (i.e., they are already on death's doorstep from the ravages of this disease, and from their other underlying issues) AND it helped - I'd consider that significant. Those results could be achieved with a fairly small sample size. But if it was just based on a normal group of infected people - I'd consider it more anecdotal than the HCQ+Zinc results (positive results which have been reported by multiple groups across the world - over the past few months).

Sounds like she created her false narrative while locked down in her home and watching Laura Ingaham. She spoke to no one about her narrative, researched nothing and just went with the storyline. This woman needs to get a real job outside delivering packages or pizza rather than daydreaming and fantasizing.

insurance wont be paying for that unless you are pretty damn sick. SO Gilead is useless in terms of something that can keep you from being hospitalized

of course, it obviously still has merit

One front line Dr who sees patients once they get pneumonia thinks that Genentech drug will save lives..but again..it is expensive.

Now there is another drug, remdesivir, with positive early scientific data.

Has the actual data and results been published yet?

As Dr. Fauci says this is just anecdotal evidence, because there is no control group and a small sample size, but the results achieved are encouraging.

They managed to get nearly half of a group of severely ill patients out of the hospital which is very good compared to results for other treatments.

Patients as sick as the ones in this limited Gilead study are probably past the point where HCQ + other drugs is effective.

Fauci, Gates, and everyone in lefty land keep excluding the crutial ZINC part of the equation.

Hydroxychloroquine opens the cell “door”, so the zinc can stop the actual virus!

This is really key to rapid neutralization of virus replication, and denying protein to the virus, which then literally dies.

From what I am hearing, the “sanctioned” controlled studies of Hydroxychloroquine are deliberately not including the critical zinc model, so to turn society against Hydroxychloroquine.

This is the game plan, to create the demand for a dangerous and expensive “vaccine”.

And that is only part of the bigger strategy in play.
