The country is beginning to open up again after the Great Wuhan Cootie Lockdown of 2020. Its different state by state and while California and a handful of other states are maintaining their indefinite stay-at-home orders most states are taking a measured, toe-in-the-water approach such as Colorados new phase called Safer at Home. In states that have announced they are beginning to lift the bans it is still far from business as usual. Retail businesses might be allowed to do curbside pickup, bars and restaurants might be allowed to open at 25% capacity. Businesses such as salons, dog groomers, personal trainers and elective medical services will be allowed to open with stringent requirements and restrictions.
I was able to score an appointment with my stylist for next week, here are the instructions she was required to forward to her clients:
If you arrive before my last client has left, you must wait in your car until Ive sanitized the chair and invite you in. The lobby is not available for waiting.
Masks are required, please.
I can only do cash, check or venmo. My credit card service is on my phone and for the time being I am not allowed to have clients touching it.
Its a step in the right direction, albeit a baby step. Lets hope that this revolutionary approach to regaining a normal life works better for us than it did for Bob.
If your state, or in my case, your COUNTY Utah proper does not have a shutdown but we do - remains closed for business this weekend and youre looking for a good Saturday night movie you could do much worse than watching What About Bob again.

I can’t wait until this Covid crap is over so I can have some peace and quiet.

Hilarious, because she will pay rent for space completely unusable
Maybe she can grow marijuana in the space where her customers use to relax
“Maybe she can grow marijuana in the space where her customers use to relax”
The pot demon lives rent free in your head doesn’t it?
Not as much as the “I’m okay with fascism” lives in yours...
Not as much as the “I’m okay with fascism” lives in yours...
“Not as much as the Im okay with fascism lives in yours...”
WTF are you talking about? Fascism? What does pot have to do with the cootie virus and how did you make that connection?
Maybe, if reread your post, were implying using the now unused space to grow pot seems reasonable, is okay.
I don’t care about pot or someone growing it, dispensing it, etc
It seems like a good use of the property they rent, to me
Thoughts?
Sorry, don’t know why that posted twice
“Thoughts?”
I totally got what you were saying wrong. Sorry.
A close friend of mine lives in a small gold rush town in California told me of weekly protests across from city hall. Said hundreds of people are protesting the city council decision to remain in lockdown past even Govenor Newsom’s deadlines.
She said the city council ruled that the would take $1000 dollar fines if anyone opened a business on may 1st as was California’s plan.
Last week they lined up shoulder to shoulder to to protest the socially distancing rules. yesterday they doxed the entire city council business and personal cell phone numbers. Last night the City Council held an “emergency closed door meeting”.
Businesses are opening up a few at a time spontaneously across town, no “fines” have been collected.
If there is no spike in Covid amongst the protestors they have the council by the short hairs.
And I was impressed by how “put your money where your mouth is” this protest is. This is in rural California in the Republican areas. Let us not forget our fellow Americans trapped behind the enemy lines on the Left Coast.
This is also a perfect adhoc scientific study on opening up the Nation. If there is not a spike in Covid in this rural town with hundreds of people without masks standing shoulder to shoulder yelling their hearts out for hours...
This whole Covid shutdown, And phased opening is bullshit.
One week has passed so far, zero uptick.
