My mom was an early case. She was in the ICU for almost two weeks and is now is assisted living where I think shes safe. Of my family, two of four kids, my wife and myself each had symptoms. We have since moved, at least temporarily, from NYC to New Hampshire, from which Im blessed to be able to telecommute. My mom cant travel yet and needs the medical support. This Wuhan-China-COVID virus can lay waste to you if you get it bad.
I have (had) a pilot friend who had it. He was older (for a pilot — late 50s) but in very good shape. He flew as a private pilot for a wealthy family.
He died, as did the father of the gentleman who owns the plane. He was much older, but also in good health. The passenger’s wife has been in ICU for a month now.
All in, 7 people in the family of varying ages got very sick, as well as the pilot who died and the pilot’s wife (who got sick but did not die).
prayers for your mom and family.
My mother contracted COVID-19 while in an assisted living community and pass away on Tuesday after 2 days of hospitalization. She was 81 and suffering from dementia for the last 10 years.
I have a dry cough and trouble breathing. Havent been sleeping all that well.
But its not COVID. I have bronchitis.
My daughter (28) had it and has asthma but she had a fever for a few days, slightly out of breath then was fine. She got out of New York with the all clear and says shes done with big cities.
Sorry about your loss....was there any underlying h? How old?
I had the flu back in late January but no, not the infamous Wuhan flu or even the Chinese flu. Just the old fashioned American variety I suppose.
I know four people who had / have it. Man who works at the place I work died from it but I never met the guy.
That's what you have to stay away from.
Where did this happen, if I may ask?
Unknown, no antibody tests available to the “average person” like me to check. Potentially a lot of people got it & got over it with minimal/no symptoms in December/January/February.
Not me personally.
But...
One of my wife’s cousins died from Covid-19, and another cousin (brother to the one who died), is in the hospital in critical condition from coronavirus.
My wife’s sister contracted the virus, and was very sick for the better part of 3 weeks. A daughter of my wife’s sister also came down with the virus, but didn’t show major symptoms.
All of that occurred in NYC, and in Long Island.
My wife and I and our son (all living in Tampa), were affected by a virus, but we haven’t been tested to see if it was coronavirus, though I doubt it was coronavirus.
My wife’s sister hasn’t gone out of her house in over 6 weeks; she’s scared as hell.
I was on a crowded cruise ending on February 29th, 2020
and have shopped every week in grocery stores in March & April,
and have been to the bank to access safe deposit box,
and have accompanied wife to cancer hospital every 3 weeks for her chemo,
and I am 80 years old and wear no masks.
No symptoms so far so no testing possible.
Not feeling tired, temperature is normal, not coughing.
Only thing I am doing is NEVER TOUCH FACE or any other body opening before washing hands with soap. That’s it.
Any of my fellow Texans here find any of your favorite sit down restaurant open for sit down dining business today? If so in what town or city seeing as how Governor Abbott declared the state open for limited business today which included restaurants, albeit limited to a ridiculous 25% seating capacity. Being retired I’ve not ventured out away from the house yet today which is not unusual for me.
No one in my family (which are all nearby), no one from church (Ohio). I do not think anyone in my town had it either.
The county just west of us which our township borders just had its first death two days ago. The thing is winding down, not sure why Gretchen has not allowed more businesses to open up.
Starting the 4th, Costco is now requiring any and all who enter their premises’s wear masks. I prebought so I won’t have to go there.
I live in the newsom s republic of CA.
I know two young people whove had it, one 50s one 40s. Not pleasant, very bad illness, even after 2 good days they could suddenly have a backlash bad day, but neither needed hospitalization overnight. Weaker but doing fine.
In the past two weeks I lost a beloved uncle and a more distant aunt from Covid. Both were in very poor health. One was in a senior memory care place, and the other took a fall, went into the hospital, and then got it and passed quickly.
I had a quick flu in Feb on my last day at Walt Disney World back in Feb.
My brother was very sick in Jan after a trip to VA. He tested negative for the Flu. They did not know what was wrong with him. He recovered after 10 days. He thinks he had the virus.
I had it. Lost sense of smell and taste. No appetite for a week. Very fatigued. I also had a strange rash on my chest. No fever or cough. Stayed in bed 2 weeks. Self isolated.
Two cousins have it. Know of 3 people who died.
My wife’s aunt died of it a couple of weeks ago in New York City.
