May Day Meets Schrödinger's Cat

It’s May 1st, also known as “Labour” Day or International Workers' Day around the world.

Governor Grunhilda (GG) celebrated by extending her lockdown order through May 28th, thus insuring that the workers remain free to become wards of the state rather than work.

ImageGG seems to have adopted the Irish Labour Party’s motto, which I’m guessing means something other than the obvious in Ireland

Most Michigan workers were not amused, nor was the State legislature which is controlled by Republicans, normally considered the anti-worker party:

Republicans in the legislature are threatening to create an oversight committee to investigate the lockdowns; to repeal the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act, which conferred on the state’s chief executive almost dictatorial powers after the governor declared an emergency; and to amend the 1976 Emergency Management Act, which gave the legislature the right to make such a declaration, to reduce the period covered from 28 to 14 days…The Republicans point to the 1976 act and contend that, if the state legislature does not approve an extension of the governor’s emergency powers by Friday, 1 May, they will evaporate. Governor Whitmer points to the 1945 act and claims that she can act unilaterally under that.” – Richochet

Apparently GG feels she has to kill the workers in order to save them. Of course GG’s office said she intends to veto any bill that seeks to limit her authority – as would any tyrant worth their salt.

And speaking of tyrants and May Day, it seems North Korea’s celebration will be toned down this year as their pot-bellied dictator is still missing in action amid rumors of his demise/perfect health continue to swirl, leading some to compare him to Schrödinger's cat.

Others, see Schrödinger's cat as having more immediate application to the rest of us these days:

And never being allowed to talk about science means ESPECIALLY as it relates to global warming. Furthermore, I’d suggest that if they don’t understand the joke, which I’m certain they don’t, GG and others no longer be allowed to use the Coronavirus as an excuse to unlawfully extend their powers.

How about Nancy Antoinette Pelosi never being allowed to talk at all again.

Define ‘talk.’ Does that include babbling?

lolol. Only coherent speech. So, it shouldn't be a problem to limit her output.

The term “mumbo jumbo” derives from the name of an African idol; it was treated as a magic incantation.

In that sense “justifying” a government decision by reference to “the science” - without specific facts and logic - is mumbo jumbo.

It is an incantation which suggests that you don’t deserve facts and logic in support of the decision in question.
