Come Friday in Texas, the nation’s second-largest economy, businesses such as restaurants and retail stores will be open again, but at a 25% occupancy rate. After that, public health officials will reevaluate the data and decide whether to allow a 50% occupancy rate...Other states besides Texas where stay-at-home orders were set to expire Thursday: Alabama, Arizona, Idaho, Maine, Nevada, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Florida, where some beaches already have reopened.

On Friday, stay-at-home orders in Indiana, Ohio, and Utah are set to expire, meaning some businesses will reopen Saturday.

We had fourteen. Fourteen. Anyway, our Gov’s changing our status from “Red” to “Yellow”, which is basically, “Stay at home if you’re likely to get seriously ill from this crap; the rest of you use some damned common sense, would ya?” For my money, that could’ve been done at the start. Fourteen, indeed.

Excellent, balanced article.

““In general, in population centers now, we are seeing a decline, while in rural areas, we are seeing a steady increase...”

Yeah, I’m in a rural county and cases went from none to 7 in the last ten days.
Expected we’d be late to the party.
What matters to me personally is the next couple of weeks.

My fear is, that out Hoosier Squish governor will extend this deadline because of the recent cases coming out of 1 county with processing plants

My small farming county has had exactly ONE death that happened 2 weeks ago and you can count the number of total cases on your fingers

No reason not to look at each area independently and go from there

I can hear it now, “but people are getting sick and dying, hospitals will be overrun and and by even considering going out to eat you are stabbing the hero nurses in the back!”

Normalcy and freedom such as it is anymore in what used to be a semi-free country.

Perhaps in the urban areas that’s practical, , but, what’s the point in keeping the thousands of square miles of desert between those cities closed down?

As for Arizona, - Gov Ducey as of today extended the Stay at Home order until May 15th, with a gradual reopening etc., so, basically the order is in effect for 2 more weeks with new conditions.

It’s confusing because He’s adding a fine of $2500.00 to people that choose to ignore the order. Whatever that is?
I mean right now and for the past weeks...… banks, gas stations, restaurants, are open with drive thru windows and carry out etc. Grocery store parking lots are full with shoppers wearing masks etc,.

Personally, I have to check into the new conditions for myself and I suggest anyone reading this do the same. Like I said it’s not clear as to what is expected so, I’ll keep by mask handy and keep on with the increased hand washing diligence and stay at home .

I will say this...………...there is a lot of cars on the roads and I think more definitive explanation should prevail, because this is just getting to more confusion in my opinion. The Gov did say that business / establishments will jeopardize their liquor license etc., if non compliance is found. ?? Go Figure. Hopefully there will be more later, with clarification for Barber Shops, Dog Groomers, etc.,?

Every state should be allowing elective surgery. Maybe not at a few jot spot areas.
I’m surprised the healthcare industry donors aren’t demanding it.
