Going viral is good for social media accounts. Just ask Bill Belichick’s dog, Nike, who took the 2020 NFL Draft by storm and now has thousands of followers on Instagram.

During the draft, right after the New England Patriots made their first selection — a shocker all by itself — the broadcast went to Belichick’s home where he was doing the draft from what appeared to be his kitchen table. Instead of Belichick sitting there, it was Nike in the chair staring at the computers — setting the NFL world into a frenzy on social media.

For me, highlight of the 2020 NFL draft. I did not even know this dog breed existed. If you want a adorable lil Husky this dog fits the bill.

No thanks.

Requires opening Instagram.

I don't do Instagram...or Facebook.

I'm sure it's a delightful little doggie.

It was funny at the time, because it looks like between the last time ESPN showed his cam and the next time, Belichik morphed into a canine.

But it's gone way over the top at this point. Over-rated. I'll spare you the click. Here's an original screen grab from the draft;

I’d never heard of it either. As a breed it’s very new and still a work in progress. The lady who developed it used Alaskan Huskies which explains the cautions of it being bad around children. Siberian Huskies can be smallish and make better family dogs. Maybe someone will make a littler version of that.

As a Pats fan there’s a lot to love about Bill Belichik.

A dog named Nike is absolutely not one of them.

In fairness, “Nike” was the name of a Greek goddess of Victory long before it was an overly-woke leftist shoe company.

Belichik’s dog can probably out coach half the other NFL teams...LOL!

Siberian Huskies are actually quite small, but they have more mature head structure than this one.

What breed is this supposed to be?

Alaskan Malamutes are much bigger, with more naturally curled spitz tail (Siberian’s easily let their tails down in sickle manner). They’d really have to work to get a small dog out of Mals.

Well, small is relative. These Klee Kai can come in small/medium/large sizes. This particular dog looks like the medium size (~15lb.). The Alaskan huskies I’ve seen (pure sled dogs that I don’t think are entirely purebred) are around 50 lbs (much smaller than Malamutes). I would guess these Klee Kai’s are sled dogs mixed with a small spitz type breed (there are lots to chose from)
If I wanted a little husky type, I’d probably go with a Shiba Inu.

Never heard of it.

Anyway, small spitz....how about a Schipperke or a Pomeranian?

;-)
