Yet another highly-predictable outcome. Late Tuesday, a panel of experts the same kind of experts who assured us just a month ago that the Wuhan Virus would kill 2 million Americans announced their disapproval for hydroxychloroquine in combination with axithromycin as a treatment for the Wuhan Virus.
Heres an excerpt from an NPR report on the matter:
A panel of experts convened by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases recommends against doctors using a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19 patients because of potential toxicities.
The combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin was associated with QTc prolongation in patients with COVID-19, the panel said.
QTc prolongation increases the risk of sudden cardiac death.
The recommendation against their combined use would seem to fly in the face of comments made by President Trump suggesting the combination might be helpful. On March 21, for example, the president described them in a tweet as having a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine.
[End]
In English, the QTc prolongation means that HCQ can be dangerous for people who suffer from irregular heartbeats, an affliction most common among seniors, who are already vulnerable to the virus. This is in fact a long-known side effect of HCQ.
Note especially the narrative laid out in that last paragraph, which sets up a conflict between President Trump and Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose NIAID is one of 27 institutes and centers under the NIH umbrella. Note also that this NIH panning of HCQ comes despite wildly successful trials in both the U.S. and other countries, as well as several peer-reviewed studies that have shown it to be very effective mainly in combination with zinc, not axithromycin, in treating the Chinese plague. The NIH decision also ignores the fact that many doctors have successfully used HCQ as a prophylactic treatment against the virus.
This decision will now also make many doctors less willing to prescribe HCQ in any combination with other medications for fear of being chastised and perhaps sued for straying from NIH edicts.
Finally, because of information that has come to light that the Wuhan Virus is having a disproportionate impact on blacks, Hispanics and other minorities for a variety of factors, the NIH edict sets up another narrative that will contend that, by promoting the use of HCQ as a potential game-changer, the Bad Orange Man was being a racist.
As we have pointed out before, there are many billions of dollars at stake here. Because HCQ is cheap and in plentiful supply, there is no real money to be made through it by big Pharma or its beneficiaries at the NIH. A cheap, effective and plentiful treatment for the virus also diminishes the value of any vaccine that comes along, and we would be remiss if we failed to point out the NIHs long association with and benefit from Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation.
Expect the President to get into heated exchanges with multiple Democrat activists disguised as reporters at tonights press conference. Its inevitable.
That is all.
I read somewhere that the NIH was working studies with the Chinese on conrona viruses in bats for the past year or so.
We helped them develop this. They know this stuff works. That’s why they don’t what people to use it.
Fauxi “study” retrospective with the patients
PLACED to get the right outcome.
Women - excluded
Black obese male smokers with lowest lymphocytes
on respirators assigned to HcQ.
bottom line:
RETROSPECTIVE small cherry picked anecdotal “study”.
Similar to the BS from the VA.
If I were Donald Trump, I would say at this point, “OK, fine, go hide in the ground until you die.” Then I would leave the White House, move to a nice country club resort, and live self-indulgently until I myself died. I can’t understand how he persists instead in fighting invincible ignorance and unalloyed hatred.
NIH is the equivalent of the State Science Institute in Atlas Shrugged. Rearden Metal is no good and unsafe. In the end they want the patent so everyone can use it. Same thing going on here except they are promoting a product that the Pharmaceuticals can make huge profits from while destroying one that works.
From the VA chief
Responding to the results during an appearance on MSNBC, Wilkie said, Thats just an observational study. Its not a clinical study. It was done on a small number of veterans; sadly, those of whom were in the last stages of life, and the drug was given to them.
The drug has been working on middle-age and younger veterans, Wilkie added. By that, he meant that it was stopping the progression of COVID-19.
The Deep State and the Trump haters (but I repeat myself) do not accept Trump as POTUS and would prefer to destroy the country to thwart him. They should just work hard to make sure that Trump is out in nine months but protect the country and the economy so that the President inaugurated in 2021 has a chance to move the country forward.
The MSM’s preoccupation at writing article after article after article after article convincing low info Dem voters that a particular treatment will not work shows how sick this crowd is.
Govenor Cuomo banned it from the populous but his wife, brother Chris of CNN and George stephdacoccus all stay at home, no hospital stay, miraculously recovered.
Predictable as the crisis hits another stage or curve, the left shifts gears to keep crisis hot. The most vile people on earth are leftists and all who are supporting this.
A guy from the VA was on MSNBC and refuted the claims.
The Drugs were ineffective with older, sicker Veterans being treated, not young and middle aged Veterans where the Disease had not progressed.
these people are evil scum- pure evil-
You can bet your bottom dollar that if they were to get this virus- God forbid, that they would immediately take the drugs they hope to deny to everyone else-
I think I read that the NIH gave money for the development of the Wuhan Level 4 virology lab, and had people assigned to it to get it set up and running.
Someone’s trying to make sure Gilead’s $1000 per dose drug is picked as the winner.
Flawed study in the extreme.
And apparently they were using HCQ as a standalone instead of the proven protocol.
Smacks of incompetence as well as a total disrespect for our Veterans well-being.
