I have a new Mac laptop. Don't like Safari or Chrome. Can you suggest good browser?

Firefox is popular. I have used it at work, and it is okay. Personally, I prefer Chrome. YMMV.

Give Safari a try again, take some time to get comfortable with it.
It has great built-in privacy controls, a “reader view” to get around a lot of html junk, etc. I add Ghosterly and Ublock, and rarely see any ads. Makes for a great experience.

The best browser to use is the one you already know how to use. Be that as it may, Safari is written by Apple and optimized for macs and iDevices. YMMV

What is it you don’t like about Chrome and Safari? Brave is based on Chromium which is the technology underlying Chrome (and also Microsoft Edge)

I have been using Firefox since it was Netscape Navigator and am happy with it (mostly).

“Seconded. I also use the ScriptSafe plugin”

Any more good plugins privacy related you use? I use FF, always in privacy !ode, with noscript, ghostery, lightbeam, pop-up blocker, VPN always...but it can be a bit slow. W7 and Android tablet mainly, also W10.

And is there an easy way to exim bookmarks, including from Android tablet?

Freeper with a new Mac is requesting advice with choice of Browsers for Mac. For some reason, most likely unfamiliarity, he doesn’t like Safari. I suggest giving it some more time and exploring the features. I find Safari to be better than most alternatives when used on a Mac. —PING!

In terms of extensions, Brave.

Safari is a nice browser, but not nearly the number of useful extensions

Brave is supposed to be good for privacy issues. And it synchs with Brave browsers on phones and tablets and desktops. But I prefer Firefox because I have been using it for so long...
