The United States of America was founded to free the inhabitants of the 13 original colonies from England and the tyranny of a distant king, George III. Thus we are loath to restrict the actions of other individuals unless we perceive a threat to the freedom of others in those actions. My question is as follows, "Is there a point at which a citizens ignorance of the principles of government would prohibit their voting in elections ?"
The politicians discovered that they could use the treasury to buy votes AND use a willing, sympathetic and corrupt press to shill for them. This pernicious scheme is destroying this once great country.
Actually we are more of a kleptocracy than a democracy.

Ah. So you're asking the question instead of making a statement. You're writeup isn't clear.
I believe we have other far more serious problems that will bring about our demise first.
As to changing the law, can you imagine a politician running on a platform to limit the number of voters by a test of their constitutional knowledge? At this point we'll never make a change like that without a revolution.
