We can defend Hawaii with a simple defense treaty. There’s no need for it to be a state. The state has given us nothing but Marxist ingrates in Congress. It’s the equivalent of what Alaska was to Russia.
Yep...That goes for everyone in government, most of which are still working and or getting paid.
No, the other workers aren’t getting a haircut...
Las Vegas will be hit harder.
To date they haven’t been able to even contact 30% of students, or their parents.
Look for a 50% reduction in teachers over the next year as the families of students flee the impending collapse of Babylon in the desert. And state revenues go into the toilet.
They wont even be able to keep the lights on so people can see well enough to load up the truck for the first opportunity to exit.
It will be an epic disaster. So many tears.
Hawaii is cutting teacher pay. Las Vegas is laying off cops. California is providing additional aid to illegals. New York was 6 billion in the hole last November before the whole mess started. Which one does not belong in this picture?
Even Dems realize the need to cut government pay and jobs because raising taxes wont raise revenue. And those stupid enough to try will soon find that raising taxes will reduce revenue especially in this environment.
Las Vegas will be hit harder.
To date they havent been able to even contact 30% of students, or their parents.

About the online learning for K-12 at this time...I am skeptical that too much learning is going on...
I read an article about Los Angeles Unified a few weeks ago...Officials were worried that many students failed to access online learning...
I read an article in LA TIMES about questions posed by students...One student complained about a teacher not answering any emails about the lesson...The reporter suggested that the student complain to the school administrator...
Because tourists enroll their kids in Hawaiian schools? Unless they have the whole on-line teaching thing going on, I presume they are not working now so no reason to pay them.

Should the teacher pay be adjusted during the shutdown?
Let’s talk about a high school teacher...What does he have to do during regular school days? He has to worry about classroom management...He has to convince students to pay attention during his lesson...He might have to confiscate a phone from a student because she keeps on using it during class...Then the student becomes angry and uses F word towards the teacher...
During the shutdown, the teacher is at home...He does not have to worry about classroom management...
How about students who do not to learn? They are going to stay at home and not log into online learning...
The teacher just has to put up the lesson online...He does not have to worry about dealing with teenagers using profanities...
When teachers were hired, they were expected to do more than just putting up a lesson online...
Therefore, why not a pay cut for teachers during the shutdown?
By the way, Governor of Hawaii is a Democrat...
Governor of CA has not mentioned any pay cut for public employees yet...
I just opined to my better half a couple days ago that if teachers stopped getting paid like the rest of the American workforce, this lockdown would rapidly come to an end.

The head of LA Unified School teachers’ union first suggested school closings to the superintendent...The superintendent eventually closed LA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT schools...
I think the union president had no problem suggesting school closures because he knew that teachers would not suffer any pay cut...
I support merit pay for teachers, and detest teacher unions.
Pay cuts are what happened when there was a Great Depression.
Here we go. When the teachers’ unions turn on the governors, lockdowns will vanish like a morning fog.
