Look at the climate change stuff and how it is tried to change the world we live in. We’ve had enough history in the world to start making predictions from HISTORY itself. Looking at SARS and H1N1 History would have given us better guidelines for CPP19.

But as someone responsible for the management of the logistics of treating the virus , how would you decide how much stuff different places are going to need throughout an episode?
Perhaps they should use models, and simply not tell the math-deficient masses. If you don’t understand why the numbers change...you really cannot bitch about them when they do.

Since the models have been terrible and people are wondering why we destroyed our country over a dramabug, the experts are now wanting us to forget they used those models to destroy our nation.

And climate models, and economic forecast models. They are worthless and chiefly are used to give geeks employment who didn’t make it to tech companies. It’s certainly appropriate to call out modelers when the models fail - but it’s much MORE appropriate to call out policy makers who treat a model of epidemic spread with so many unknowns to start like it was a calculation based on E=mc2
We STILL don’t really know enough about transmission of SARS CoV 2 to make a proper model, never mind to make correct public policy.
