Boy, have House Democrats got a plan for you.
Howd you like to get $2K a month during the entirety of the pandemic?
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) are sponsoring the Emergency Money for the People Act.
The EMPA will throw 2000 bucks your way until employment returns to pre-COVID-19 levels.
The way the pair see it, a one-time $1,200 as part of the $2.2 trillion economic stimulus aint gettin it.
Tim explained in a press release:
The economic impact of this virus is unprecedented for our country. As millions of Americans file for unemployment week over week, we have to work quickly to patch the dam and that means putting cash in the hands of hard-working families.
I love it when the government puts cash in my hard-working hands.
Ro championed Democrats and Republicans joining forces to pay us all:
A one-time, twelve hundred dollar check isnt going to cut it. Americans need sustained cash infusions for the duration of this crisis in order to come out on the other side alive, healthy, and ready to get back to work. Members on both sides of the aisle are finally coming together around the idea of sending money out to people. Rep. Ryan and I are urging leadership to include this bill in the fourth COVID relief package to truly support the American working class.
To be fair, the government absolutely does owe us all money. Unfortunately, any dollars they donate now will be taken from us later via taxes.
Sometimes, ya cant win for losin.
Then again, it wouldve been taken, regardless. Along with lots more.
Either way, under the bill as reported by The Daily Wire more Americans would qualify for federal payments and the $2,000 monthly payment would stay in effect until employment returns to pre-COVID-19 levels.
The eligibility requirements are as follows, courtesy of TDW:
Every American adult age 16 and older making less than $130,000 annually would receive at least $2,000 per month. Married couples earning less than $260,000 would receive at least $4,000 per month. Qualifying families with children will receive an additional $500 per child families will receive funds for up to three children. For example, a married couple making under $260K with 3 kids would receive $5,500 per month. Those who had no earnings, were unemployed, or are currently unemployed would also be eligible. Those who were not eligible in 2019 or 2018 but would be eligible in 2020, could submit at least two consecutive months of paychecks to verify income eligibility. The Emergency Money for the People Act also expands the program to millions more Americans who were excluded from the CARES cash rebates such as college students and adults with disabilities who are still claimed as a dependent. The individual will receive the payment, and their parent or guardian will receive the dependent credit.
Last month, of course, Congress and Trump approved $1,200 to go to each American who makes less than $75,000 a year. Above that income marker, the amount declines by 5% for every dollar, or 50 clams for every thousand extra earned. Anyone making over $99,000 is outta luck. Families with kids under 16 get $500 per.
How do ya like the two grand a month? $1,200 is fairly paltry for those whove been out of work, and more money is always more better.
Or are some congressional Democrats trying to put us all on welfare, even as Andrew Cuomo says the worst is over for the Big Apple?
And who decides when were back to normal? And what precedent are we setting? And might this be a reason to stall a natural restart of the economy? Where does the plan lead us?
Considering the source, it sounds like a suckers deal to me.
The tragic results of this pandemic is actually a Democrats dream: Americans unhappy, unemployed, and needing the nanny state to rescue them.

The press release:
IF I get any of that money, I will turn it around and donate it to Trump 2020.
Young slackers will now make more sitting on the couch playing PS4 than working. Boy, there’s incentive.
I am sick and tired of politicians think THEY can hand out money, like it is theirs to bequeath upon the peasants.
IF they feel so generous, let them give out of their own pockets.
Yep. These peoples republick of amerika democraps don’t want anyone going back to work.
Why work? Sit home and play on the internet. Socialism is here.
Why work? Sit home and play on the internet. Socialism is here.
according to the media Nanny Bloomberg can pay this all by himself
Why not a just a simple suspension in income tax?
are they trying to trash the economy as fast as possible or are they just stupid?
All together now:
Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus
Repeat ad nauseam.
until employment returns to pre-COVID-19 levels.
The POISON PILL in the bill.
A Nation of Millionaires!
Why didnt we think of this before?
I'm a normal retiree on SS ... less than a thou.
Life is OK, but don't nothin' break.
America was built on, and kept running with an "I can make it happen" ATTITUDE.
We all know the line about feeding the zoo animals takes the ability of that once feral animal to feed ITSELF.
So the covid19 is invented to screw Trump out of another election, but America is tiring of the lack of support numbers to maintain the fear / panic.
Stupid peopl buy into the "rules" that deny American Constitutional freedom.

Our best shot at recovery is to use the 1200 wisely and knuckle down to forcing the issue ... we probably WILL have to confront our local gendarmes ..... but
Buying my vote will cost at least $10,000!
How will this debt be repaid? It will be repaid through increased taxes or a devaluation of the dollar through inflation.
Either way, it wont be the wealthy who will repay that debt.It will be us drones who work everyday.
This is like Rush’s “minimum wage” question. “If $12/hr is fair, why not $15? If $15/hr is fair, why not $20? If $20/hr is fair, why not $30?”
If $200/mo is good, why not $1000? If $1000/mo is good, why not $2000? If $2000/mo is good, why not $5000?
Democrats just want to play Santa Claus while ignoring the economic reality of what these things due to inflation, the debt, and the health of the economy.
Plus, $2000/mo doesn’t go as far in San Francisco or NYC as it does in West Texas or North Dakota.
If this passes, enjoy your $20 loaves of bread and $50 gallons of milk.
THIS WAS A PLAN FROM THE GET GO, PANDEMIC AND ALL
