Trump was elected to lead, not to read.

Let’s get this party started!

Never fear, the Fake News is going to treat us to horror story after horror story about how the American people getting back to work is bad news! Look for them to also give us endless sob stories.

If they had the power, the Fake News would try and have us shut down, and locked in our homes until November!

The best thing we could do would be to keep those at very high risk secluded and open back up everything, starting with our schools. Do it today!

We're all Fauci's lab rats. He doesn't give a damn about real people. It's all about him and his indisputable (cough, cough) knowledge.

We have the flu every year. Thousands die despite a vaccine. I think the last one out was 25% effective....but that assumes that the 25% would have gotten the flu unless they got the vaccine. It's a friggin' numbers game with a lot of money floating around.

Obviously we need to get back to normalcy, but a lot of things are going to be different even after this is over. I’ve spoken to multiple people who said they are unlikely to want to go to restaurants or movie theaters, for example. We’ll have a ‘new normal’ for at least awhile.

States vary considerably with this, so President Trump gave “federalized” authority, which was then enacted by the governors as they saw fit. The reopening should be done the same way.

That is, Texas is planning to reopen soon, but New York needs to stay shut down longer. This will give the best results to see what happens with the virus as well as economic recovery.

Importantly, there will remain some level of “background” cases, of people getting sick and even dying, but the objective is to figure out the intolerable level in each state.

Likewise, starting the economy back up will create shock waves, so doing a “rolling recovery” will probably work better.

OPEN UP AMERICA NOW. Trump needs to be 100% clear on this, no uncertain terms. America WILL reopen on May 1st (or substitute another date here). Get it DONE, let’s rebuild this country.

At least in our state the shut down has been minimal. Not yet 20 deaths. Let’s get this country rolling.

What have we learned from this?

THE MEDIA AND GOVERNMENT can induce fear and terror in the populace with their version of FACTS and Statistics that almost give them dictatorial control, allowing them to trash our Consitution.

That itself should be feared far more than this virus.

But no - the sheeple, who depend on TV and internet for all reality, totally miss that fact, and readily give up our freedoms.

Frankly, I can see the sad possibility that our nation never recovers from this loss of freedom......

I know of four small businesses in rural areas that may never reopen. How can you ever compensate people for taking away their livelihood? And since many small business owners have to pledge their houses for start up loans, they may end up losing their homes as well. Losses in jobs, income and homes will never be adequately compensated for by any government action. As I look at worldwide deaths and their reported causes, I think the economic shutdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus was excessive and will cause a disproportionate amount of economic misery.

Aggressive testing for both the antibody and the virus would enable us to deftly respond to outbreaks, to contain them, along with contact tracing.

People who have the antibody could work and play with fewer restrictions, both from the government’s point of view and from their own perspective.

After we open up there will be outbreaks — we have to know how to react quickly and contain them. The threshold of necessary herd immunity is usually 80 percent, but the virus is much more likely to perpetuate itself without people taking reasonable precautions at home and at work. That might effectively raise the threshold to 90 percent or higher (meaning after that many people have had it, the virus can’t find enough hosts and effectively completely disappears). Widespread, universal testing is one of the key elements of a short-term solution, until we get a vaccine.

Shutting down the economy is stupid without knowing the FATALITIES AS A PERCENTAGE OF THE INFECTION RATE.

We need more ANTIBODY STUDIES ASAP!!!

A 1000 person German antibody study by the University of Bonn resulted in a death rate of those infected at 0.37% and a CV infection rate at 15%. The Diamond Princess had an infection rate of 17%.

CV appears to be MORE CONTAGIOUS and LESS LETHAL than we thought.

If this is correct, the US economy should be reopened NOW, all schools reopened, protect the elderly with preexisting conditions and stop this MEDIA DRIVEN PANIC & NONSENSE.

I don’t know what the PTB at my plant will decide. Peeps on the line are shoulder to shoulder by design to make the process more efficient. Also thinking manufacturing might be at the bottom of hte list if not making something critical.

Let’s see....

Stay closed up or run out of actual, raw foodstuffs, including meat, dairy, fruits....

Choose, already.

It’s kind of like the Newsweak story in March about having/not having sex, due to social distancing.

One good point of view is the last thing we want to happen is for Trump to re-open to have to close because the virus ramps up. So it IS important to be cautious but let’s indeed re-open soon.

The media is trying to make it either or. There is no reason it cannot be a staged restart. Getting your nails done for example might be one of the last services that re-opens. Getting some coffee sooner than later.

My advice to Trump would be to put the onus on the states. He can advise on re-opening and re-open federal institutions and anything under his control. But if Cuomo wants to wait on New York, let Cuomo own that.
