Asked, “Who do you trust more in the current coronavirus crisis?” U.S. likely voters favor President Donald Trump over both “the average member of Congress” and “the average reporter,” a new Rasmussen Reports survey shows. While 35% of voters say they trust Trump the most, only 30% choose “the average reporter” – and just 17% say they trust “the average member of Congress” the most – the survey of 1,000 U.S. likely voters, conducted April 12-13, 2020 finds. Eighteen percent say they’re “not sure” who they trust more.

KEYWORDS: uhhuh
A bit of a misleading headline--a plurality trust Trump more. He needs a few more press conferences like the one yesterday to bring the reputation of average reporters down a few notches more.

I do not recall who said the following or where I first heard it.
But, quite some time ago someone once said, paraphrasing, I would rather be governed by the first 100 people from a phone book than any of the Politicians in DC.
In other words, the person who said this naturally trusted the AVERAGE group of Americans to govern correctly than trust any group of Politicians.
I must say, I agree 100% with that sentiment.

Yes. That’s who it was. Thank you! I just could not recall the man’s name at the time I thought it and wrote it.
And, I agree with that thought 100%.
To me, Donald Trump is that man picked out from the proverbial phone book.
Obviously not a random unknown man but, a most unexpected man. A non-politician that stepped up.
A man of wealth that gave up the comfortable life of a multi Billionaire and stepped up to the plate for the country he loves that gave him the opportunity to become the Billionaire he became.
He didn’t like what he saw, commented about it for decades, and willingly risked all he had to make a difference. A very very rare man.

Most people would trust a junkyard dog over a Washington politician.

Let’s get it right.

“I would rather governed by the first two thousand people in the Boston telephone directory than by the two thousand people on the faculty of Harvard University.”
