Over the last two decades the writings of Pat Buchanan have taught me so much that my own background and education, born into a progressive family, could never have taught me.
He has converted me to conservatism. (Ron Paul and Aussie P.M. Tony Abbott helped.)
What do Freepers think of Pat Buchanans analysis of the current crisis: https://buchanan.org/blog/what-price-victory-in-the-coronavirus-war-138432 ?
I consider it brilliant.
“Consider. In a nation one-tenth as populous as ours today, Abe Lincoln sent more than 600,000 men and boys, North and South, to their deaths rather than let seven Deep South states secede and depart in peace.”
Pat is still loyal to the Lost Cause.
Damn, its raining and my roof has a small leak. How much Gasoline should I use to Burn the House down before too much water damage is done??
The ventilators have to be modified in on particular fashion, so they collect smoke and are routed through the rectal orifice, so they may blow smoke up your @$$.
While I am sure that no such modifications have been made, there is a lot of smoke coming from somewhere, and and it is being forced up into a LOT of folks.
Curling out their noses, the smoke is.
pat buchanan is a moron

We are taking a collection to help you out.
How much have you collected?
Oh, about 5 gallons.
Greatest is pretty subjective.
I like Pat and his writing. He is often right and ahead of the curve. And other times he is full of shit.
Add his material to the hopper, it helps one to think about more than one avenue
and it’s a old outdated ventilator that you have to slap from time to time to keep it running.
Overall, I don’t know what to think about all this. It is protecting elderly people, some of whom I know and love, which I think is good, and I think we did not know how to protect the population from a virus we did not know much about *except* that people could spread it for a long time without even knowing they had it.
On the other hand... we have really destroyed our economy, while cutting people off from each other so we are kind of unaware of what is happening to others.
I thank people in the grocery stores for continuing to work because they are running a risk I am not forced to run, but they usually do not have much choice and to be honest, if I did not have people in my household who are vulnerable, I would be there working too, since the money would be extremely helpful!
But all across the nation are people who are seriously in trouble.
I wish that we had had a little more time to make the decision, or that the reason this option was chosen over others could have been explained, or that they would stop saying one thing one week and another the next (face masks bad, face masks good, that sort of thing), and instead figuring out how we can start letting people start to resume their normal lives.
I guess the one good thing about Trump is that I feel he does have an eye on getting us out again, ie, the economy. Democrats seem to act as if the economy is of no consequence except when they can use it to further their own pet projects.
No writer that I read inspires me more often than Pat does.
I dont think my opinion is an absolute truth.
Its just what I think.
Bulls***.
some traditions are worth there weight in gold/uranium/whatever it is that is priceless .........
....... but machines should be up to date ........
Only God is omniscient.
We just do the best we can.
As you are.
Yes, and this is one reason I really dislike all the Monday morning quarterbacking so many do. >:(
