DHS mulls massively expanding immigration as 10 million Americans are forced out of work. Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies reports: "With 10 million unemployment claims just in the past two weeks and a jobless rate that could reach 32 percent, the Trump Administration is continuing the trend of increasing importation of foreign workers, whose numbers have doubled over the past decade.
The State Department has waived the interview requirement for H-2A visa farmworkers to speed their arrival, while the Department of Homeland Security is going ahead with a lottery for H-1B cheap-labor visas for tech firms and possibly increasing the number of H-2B nonfarm seasonal workers (for landscaping, hotels, carnivals, etc.)
This last is perhaps the most unreal. Following its recent practice, Congress responded to pressure from industry lobbyists to increase the number of H-2B visas by passing the buck to DHS, authorizing—but not requiring—it to increase the number. The administration decided on the largest-ever increase—35,000 additional visas—in the long-ago days of 3 percent unemployment (i.e., March 5)."
Also, hotspots in New York, the epicenter of the coronavirus in America, correspond with areas that have dense immigrant populations.

Importing farmworkers is the lesser issue since the sad truth is that if we had to depend on domestic workers a good portion of the crops would rot in the fields due to lack of workers.
Bringing in cheap tech workers who often get trained by the Americans they are replacing is the real outrage.
For some reason, though of course Queens is in NY, I’m reminded of the old Gilda Radner line where King Tut has enough problems being dead without also being sent to New Jersey.

There’s something very wrong with out federal government and my heart goes out to President Trump and his loyal staff who have to deal with the strange minds and morals of the federal workforce.
Early last week, for the first time ever, my neighbor told me he got a letter from the Department of the Treasury that wrote his social security would be offset by a student loan from 27 years ago.
This is the first he has ever heard of it. I asked him why didn’t he pay back his student loan and he told me his university paid it back when his scholarship was granted. The loan paid his tuition in the interim but was paid back inside a month.
So now he has to go through bureaucracy to get it resolved.
But I am shaking my head wondering who the hell is running Treasury when there is a pandemic and Treasury is supposed to be on a sprint pace to get money to Americans to help tide them over.
Why after 27 years would some federal computer spit out a letter threatening an elderly citizen with reducing their social security.
Is this deep state in action trying to make Americans hate the Trump Administration?
Something tells me Secretary Mnuchin never asked this to be done. If anything, he would halt any such collection activity especially after 27 years without a proper peep about it?
