It appears the CDC has issued new guidance as of March 24th, that will show the cause of death to be coronavirus in cases that are untested and in those with other serious health problems that may be the real cause.
If we had those in power who wanted to take advantage and seize more power, wouldn't be to their advantage to instill more fear? Just look at what the leftists and the news media are doing already.
NY has been padding the numbers, counting everything as coronavirus
Shot a killed by some gang banger piece of garbage? Cornovirus
etc
In almost all cases of death in this country the probable cause of death is listed as the cause. Sorry to break up your conspiracy theory, but this is nothing new. There aren’t enough medical examiners to go around. And even if you text a corpse to prove they had Covid-19 that does not necessarily make the virus the cause of death. So, what’s the point of testing?

Should COVID-19 be reported on the death certificate only with a confirmed test?,
COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death. Certifiers should include as much detail as possible based on their knowledge of the case, medical records, laboratory testing, etc. If the decedent had other chronic conditions such as COPD or asthma that may have also contributed, these conditions can be reported in Part II. (See attached Guidance for Certifying COVID-19 Deaths)
*test, not text. Damn spell correct!
Add to this the prospect of Fed Gov paying a bounty to local/state government, and hospitals, for each diagnosis of Covid-19. Reckon that will skew the data?
Read the CDC memo at my post #4. Covid doesn’t need to be the cause. That it “contributed to” the death is sufficient.
If the patient is stage 4 cancer, and a plausible argument could be made that his death was in any way hastened by Covid, then he gets tagged as Covid (and the hospital gets federal funds)

So how long do you suggest be spent and what resources do you want committed to finding out if the actual cause of death was Covid-19 or stage 4 cancer?
“A”, not “the”.
NYC has an average deaths/day of about 202.
Since last Monday, through Saturday’s reporting numbers, the deaths attributed to the Coronavirus alone has been 292/day.
That is so far out from your conspiracy-theory...
If the patient is stage 4 cancer, and a plausible argument could be made that his death was in any way hastened by Covid, then he gets tagged as Covid
If the patient died of pneumonia triggered by covid -19, then he died of covid -19.
If the person has stage 4 cancer, and was going to die this week whether or not he had covid-19, then the doctor should be honest about the real primary cause of death.
or not he had covid-19, then the doctor should be honest about the real primary cause of death.

Probably isn’t a ‘bonus’ for cancer deaths while still one for beerflu.
If one gets money for a certain disease doesn’t it make ‘sense’ to claim ALL deaths are from the certain disease?
Also funny how ‘we’ are all glued to our seats while being advised how to act/react by the same people who were charged with keeping sufficient supplies for an emergency?
Like if you are driving a wrecker and your job is to pull the truck off the front porch of a house, you damn sure don’t want/need the guy who put the truck there telling you how to get it off.
FOLLOW THE MONEY.
The government lied. It’s what governments do.

So, in short, the guidance is to do it the normal way, and not by a changed standard, higher or lower.
I am a little surprised by the push-back this story is getting here to defend the CDC who obviously changed some rules in the middle of the game. When you ask why, you suddenly become a conspiracy theorist.
Me thinks they do protest too much when they try to use the number of deaths per day in NY in the argument. There was no mention of that. The subject of the thread was the determination of the cause of death.
