COVID 19...An Excuse Not To Pay Your Bills

VANITY--Any Small Businesses out there suddenly having non-paying customers using Covid as an excuse?

I'm not talking about fledgling restaurant businesses that have been governmentally shut down. I'm talking well established businesses that claim to have no reserves! I manage my husband's very small HVAC business. I've had three customers in the last week use Covid19 as an excuse not to pay their invoices.

We have only been in business since 2016 and use one subcontractor. I find it VERY hard to believe that these businesses, who often have writes ups in the local news NOT have any reserves and are instantaneously depleted!

One of the customers has a brand new mercedes SUV parked in his driveway.

Another has several businesses that have been operating for a lot longer than our business has.

Are they co-mingling funds? Drawing exorbitant salaries? Spending money they don't have?

I'm expected to pay all my creditors on time! I pay all our business line of credits in full to avoid interest charges.

I say we not pay any taxes that are being used to pay the salaries of Rat/RINO party members who declared for the past 3.5 years that immigration enforcement and travel bans are racist.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I read something today that said one MILLION Chinese nationals have entered the country in the past month. For what? So they can do this?...

They probably are keeping money aside to pay the lease of the buildings they have. It’s the same with everything. You pay the house mortgage first. And since these businesses don’t know when this is over, they have every penny going to one bill and hope they can stretch the money till this is over. This must be there priority. Lose the building and you are through. Have some sympathy. This is real life!!!!!

Some people are @sses and will use any excuse to screw their neighbors.

Remember who they are. Remember your good customers. Adjust behavior accordingly when this is over.

I had to have a new garage door put in, half down, the rest on installation.
Also had to put in a new HVAC unit, I was expected to upon installation which I did.

I’d love to have some sympathy but these are people who have been ostentatious. I’m not talking about residential customers. One is an el-cheapo landlord/business owner (married to a famous high maintenance trophy wife) who tried to chew us down on the amazing price we gave him before all this started.

I’m sure NO one will have sympathy for us if we don’t pay our bills and mortgage.

I hope these people are enjoying their heat and hot water. Somehow I don’t think they’ll gyp the utilities. Guess it will be C.O.D. from here on out.

I'm getting sick of the emails from places like my utility, credit cards, etc., telling me "they're here for me." Even Enterprise sent me an email today, and I haven't rented a car from them in over a year. Give it the f*ck up already!!!

Today I had about 4 calls on my landline from Walgreen's. I only use them to get my flu shots, and medication that I need to take right away...like an antibiotic. Otherwise, I use CVS Caremark for my regular meds. I searched for the number calling, and it said it was from Walgreen, probably wanting to tell me that "they're here for me." I keep the ringer off of that phone, because all I get is robocalls calls on it, and I don't answer any calls on it, or my cell phone, unless the calls are from someone in my contact list. What a pain in the ass these people can be.

EXCUSE? More like the REASON people can’t pay their bills. It goes beyond people being idled. The components of the economy are deteriorating. Even when the ban is lifted millions who contributed to the formerly massive demand that is the economy will have nothing with which to demand.

I have five email accounts (I work in IT at my regular job)

That was an actual excuse from another customer today. She asked to be billed via email and then today she had so many covid emails that she “didn’t see my bill.”

I could use that as an excuse as well. I get conservatively 300 emails a day between all accounts
