Third World Immigrant Medical Workers Exploited by NYC Democrats
American Thinker ^ | April 2, 2020 | L.E. Ikenga

...Americans like me stick out like a sore thumb among people like this, which is why you see so few of us on these units. Various forms of subterfuge are used to discourage skilled Americans from applying for these jobs. Proper English grammar skills, both written and oral, are not seen as an asset, they’re seen as a threat. Being able to relate to patients in a professional manner instead of inspiring a calm and positive working environment, inspires jealousy. And advanced technical knowledge or even trying to maintain cleanliness and order is met with antipathy. Based on my experiences, I am convinced that one of the reasons that the Chinese virus has spread so rapidly in the city’s hospitals and nursing homes is because many of these workers have poor hygiene habits. In my observations, they use bare hands to do almost everything, with scrupulous hand washing rarely taking place. Being around people like this literally gives me the willies, which is why, again, I have turned down numerous offers...

To be honest, it appears at this point that hospital systems are using nurses, young physicians, residents, fellows, PAs, and technicians on the front lines. Personal observation. The administrators who make the staffing decisions are seldom in the trenches.

Identity Politics Lied. New Yorkers Died
Frontpage Mag ^ | April 2, 2020 | Daniel Greenfield / FR Posted by CheshireTheCat

New York Citys Latina Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot was warning that “even brief contact with the police or indirect exposure is associated with lasting harm to people’s physical and mental health”. “We as a public health department have really been trying to frame criminal justice system involvement as an exposure,” Barbot’s epidemiologist, Kimberly Zweig, claimed. Zweig had a degree in epidemiology, but her focus was entirely on PTSD and stress. Not on disease. Why was New York City so badly unprepared for the arrival of the coronavirus? The answer was radical politics. And Barbot and Zweig embodied the public health mismanagement of a radical administration. (Excerpt) Read more at frontpagemag.com ...

December 19, 2018---Mayor de Blasio And His Wife Announce First Latina Health Commissioner

NEW YORK—Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the Latina Health Commissioner will double down on the agency’s commitment to achieving health equity. Dr. Barbot understands that improving the health of our city starts with keeping health equity at the center of our work,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “

Zip code 11370 has 146% of the rate of confirmed cases as the rest of the city. Reikers Island is in this zip code.

I can attest from a patient’s point of view.

We had some problems at my first dialysis center. It wasn’t the staff, most of whom were from the Philippines (they were great), but the manager, also from the Philippines. She was awful. How she got that job, I have no clue. She, literally, gave zero sh!t’s about us, the patients. It got to the point where she avoided me, because I kept pushing for her to raise standards.

It was always floating PCT’s and nurses who screwed up most, as one gave me another patient’s iron infusion once, and I spent the rest of my treatment and that night puking. My nephrologist made sure that guy lost his job.

While admitted to the hospital, I have to say, if my nurse or PCT wasn’t white or black, they did a mediocre job at best.

Something like 200k deaths in the US per year are due to medical mistakes.

I wonder what the numbers are by state and major city. I’m sure the statistics exist somewhere. Whether or not they are easily obtainable is another thing. The numbers could be very embarrassing to some people.

Horrifying footage has emerged of dead bodies being loaded onto a refrigerated truck with a forklift outside Brooklyn Hospital in New York City where 776 people have died from coronavirus and 33,000 have been infected.

The video - which was taken by a bystander from their car - shows the bodies being loaded onto a vehicle. It surfaced within hours of a nurse sharing a harrowing photograph of bodies that had been piled into a refrigerated truck to be taken away from a different hospital.

There are makeshift morgues and hospitals popping up all over New York City, the epicenter of the virus in the US, including one in Central Park.

As of Monday morning, there were 142,000 cases of coronavirus in the US and 2,500 people had died.

New York City is expecting its ‘peak’ in the next few weeks and there is a frantic race against time to prepare the already inundated hospital system for it when it comes.

OUr local large healthcare system had a Q and A with the director a year and a half ago and when asked aobut pay increases for the staff, particualrly the CNAs and other ancillary staff, it was stated clearly that there were not going to be any wage increases, but instead that the system planned to hire third world employees.

They were bald and blunt about it.

This is a system that is edifice building all over the state, and has MONEY to BURN>

Never say a non profit doesnt make money.

This is exactly what is happening - and what happened in Wuhan and Italy. The lockdowns and social distancing are doing nothing except advancing collectivism on behalf of nefarious actors. The hospitals are the source of the big outbreaks.

In most unionized facilities in New York City (1199 SEIU), walk onto any medical unit, especially in the nursing homes, and you will see bells ringing non-stop and patients in distress. But somewhere on the floor you will also find a cluster of nursing aides and nurses laughing loudly while watching videos until a supervisor is forced to come to the floor to crack the whip.

This has been true down here in the Baltimore-Washington corridor in the various homes my elderly family members spent their last days in. It was a disgrace, especially the homes that had been religiously affiliated for a century until Medicare started throwing its weight around and imposing impossible regulations. Supposedly "certified" "caregivers" yelled instructions at the little old people, and if they didn't understand what was being shouted at them, the foreign caregivers just yelled louder, this time with irritation. The little old church ladies who had cooked for other little old church ladies in the homes were suddenly out on the curb so that "certified" food workers could fill out the diversity quotas.

I'll never forget the day they removed the beautiful, large portrait of Jesus from the dining hall of one of those homes, where it had been since 1935, supposedly until the new wall paint would be finished. You guessed it; the painting never returned.
