Here's the rundown:
My mother does evaluations for Solutions for Care, helping determine how much assistance elderly and disabled people receive from state programs available in Illinois. This includes home health care workers, cleaning services, food deliveries, and transportation for medical appointments.
Right now, one of her clients is not receiving the amount of food necessary, and it will be at least a month before they will receive any bump in benefits. An elderly woman is caring for her husband, who has dementia and who is physically disabled, and neither can stand for long periods of time in a grocer or food pantry, not to mention the stay-at-home order here in IL.
I called four food banks in the area and received no response, full voicemail boxes, or the facilities are closed due to COVID. The one who answered doesn't serve the area in which the couple lives, which is Cicero.
They don't have much money, and are sharing home delivered meals meant for one person. Does anyone have an idea who to contact for assistance? I would spend my own money to shop and deliver to stock their pantry, but I'm immune compromised and not supposed to be going out and interacting with people.
Any information is greatly appreciated. I can provide my contact info or my mother's if requested.
As far as I know, he’s not a Vet, but I’d have to check. That hadn’t occurred to me; thanks for the idea. If he is, I’ll get a hold of someone through our local VFW.
ALL:
Thanks for your suggestions. I’ll check back periodically to see if anything else comes to mind for anyone.

See if this website can post a request for help in this man’s neighborhood.
