Conservative movies just cannot catch a break. If it isnt one thing its another. The Hunt came out on Friday the 13thright as the coronavirus panic kicked into high gear. The theater was sparsely occupied.
The Hunt starts with a text between an unknown group of people, one of them insulting the president, followed by a call by the others to hunt down people who voted for him at The Manor. This is followed by a group of deplorables led by Betty Gilpin, who are drugged, kidnapped, and set down on a field, at which point liberal elites led by Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank begin hunting them down, one by one. At one point, one of the liberals notices that one of their victims was a married man. Ignore that, comes the reply. The man was a monster. And what made him a monster?

I understood the premise was the left hunting the right?
Actually, I believe Universal is making it available on a pay per view basis. Read that somewhere.
And getting turned into paste by the right when they work together and the left doesn’t. I’m looking forward to this one. Wouldn’t see it in a theater no matter the circumstances, but I’ll definitely give it a rental.
It’s Hunger Games with political rhetoric galore. It’s pretty good if you’re a fan of blood and gore special effects but I dozed off right after the wedding ring scene. Maybe I’ll go back and finish it——or not.
They would be smart to release it to Netflix sooner rather than later.
Is this the one that was supposed to come out a year or so ago but was pulled over outrage from conservatives?
Theaters are voluntarily closed. Only other options exist
$20 dollars to see this? That’s a roll and a half of two-ply toilet paper!
Supposedly it was pulled due to outrage by conservatives. But I think it was pulled because Demonrats were afraid of how this movie makes them look.
According to one review I read, it’s supposed to be a satire on over-the-top political comments made by liberal elitists on the one hand, and us “deplorables” on the other. Its intended objective is to show how silly both sides are. However the reviewer forgot one essential point: the elites really do want to kill us.
It’s now available to rent on Amazon. Not sure if it’s available in other places.
Haven’t watched it yet.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the release was delayed from last September until such a time as this.
Why would anyone rent a movie for $20. Their model is broke. People will not pay that.
They’ve never been able to offer 1st run movies before.
It’s always better to ask too much and adjust down than ask too little and leave money on the table.
They were afraid it was accurate?
The premise is actually showcasing Ms. Gilpins, Um, ‘figure’.
And yeah, she becomes the kick-butt femme who turns the tide.
Movies that want to be seen these days are on the internet. Some on youtube Some on other vehicles.
“kick-butt femme”
I am so tired of the entertainment media pushing that bull shit.
