Meanwhile California Governor Gavin Newsom issues the first “stay home” edict. Watch for other local potentates to follow suit quickly, unless they are overruled by a court somewhere.

Something just isn’t right. I went to the grocery (Meijer) after work this morning, and that store is practically wiped out. I managed to get some food, but this is a huge chain store, even the dishwasher pods are completely sold out. Definitely the empty shelves of toilet paper and tissues are compelling people to just purchase anything they can get a hold of.
The soup was almost gone, there were absolutely no crackers of any kind. There seems to be plenty of junk food to go around though, and soda.
Now, I stocked up on supplies before this all went down, and I normally keep enough toilet paper and stuff that’s scarce right now, enough for a couple of months. But, if I can’t go to the store in 2 weeks and get toilet paper, I’m going to be pissed off. This is ridiculous in this country that you can’t get things at the store right now, we need to destroy China for this!!!
IMO the store should have been monitoring the stockpiling by some shoppers. In S.W. Virginia our shelves are pretty darn full. Toilet paper was impossible to get until our local Walmart started blocking the isle and allowing ONE package per customer visit. Employees are handing them out. I’m talking whatever size you wish, but ONE. Yesterday I got a 24 pack and since I live alone, it should last like 6 months with the 8 I already had (plus my son was out, so he gets some). More stores around here are doing that. Then again, my little county has like 35K people for the entire thing, not 3 million like where this is going on.
