The flu kills hundreds of thousands every year and nobody bats and eyelash. Coronavirus kills 40 and everyone loses their mind.

Has Newt ever explained WTH he was thinking doing that photo with NAZI Pelosi?

Here

Newt is nothing if not an opportunist.

“Is this the Y2K of pandemics?”

Will be, if similar extraordinary measures are taken.

Do you not understand that proper mitigation of serious problems results in no consequences?

10x?

Do you have a better number?

Some are suggesting up to 70x.

Some people are so bored a thrill caused by a “pandemic” is the only way they can thrive. I have kin that are that way. Every fright causes a thrill and they love to show their fright. Alar, Radon, whatever sickness is going around sends then into a tailspin.

Just last night my brother-in-law called and said they had been tested for corona virus even though they are 200 miles from the nearest case, They are clear.

They also wanted to know if WE had been tested yet. We are 200 miles from the nearest outbreak and no symptoms in this area yet.

They get a thrill out of being frightened.

Mild and asymptomatic cases are not tested. It can/will only be done via a serosurvey thus the denominator is likely much larger (death rate lower). In the earlier stages of the swine flu pandemic the published “death rate” was 7% yet in reality it was <0.1%.

From Halloween thru thanksgiving and on to Christmas all of us have experienced some sort of sickness, stomach virus, flu, flu symptoms, not feeling well but able to function, cold, runny nose, sore throat, headaches, cough of some sort or a combination of. Its typical flu season! The corona virus is in the family of the common cold. We could have been exposed to this in some fashion early on and never knew it. Typical how the uneducated as well as the ultra educated are on the same plane, hysteria its the end of the world. Take precautions, something you should have been doing in a typical fu season anyway, calm the F down and this will pass as soon as it came. Extra money buy some stock

10x —> 1%, as flu is nominally 0.1%.

By fighting the spread of the Coronavirus we are also fighting the flu.

Also, Coronavirus is new virus that scientists don’t yet fully understand. This justifies initial overkill precaution imo.

On the other hand, there does seem to be something socially wrong (political correct?) when significantly lower numbers of Coronavirus deaths spook us more than much greater numbers of flu deaths.

Maybe we’re more like zombies to corrupt, anti-Trump swamp and corrupt media than we’d like to think, especially in an election year.

And speaking of election year…

Remember in November!

MAGA, also KAGA! (Keep America Great Always!)

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA will effectively give fast-working Trump a third term in office imo.

Agree
My hubby had the worst flu back in January.
Even went to doctor, which he never does..
They obviously didn’t test for CoronaV but makes you wonder.

That’s what is driving me crazy! All indications are that it isn’t a big deal, but yet people are flipping their lids. It’s the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. I am shocked at how quickly and easily people are being cowed.

I have yet to meet anyone who’s worried.

Seems like regular citizens are relaxed. All the changes in society are being made by political and industry leaders.

Stop with the Italy comparisons. Italy’s population is 10 years older than this country.

Trying to get the facts is like trying to figure out 9-11 the morning of the attack. Nobody really knows the facts at this point as they are still coming out.

One thing is for sure, however, compared to Swine Flu in 2009, the media coverage is night vs day.

We've acted.

What's the exit plan should the virus fizzle out? People have a right to know when life can return to normal.

But they are only some weeks ahead in the virus rollout.

We should be able to compare our experience to theirs and see how effective our counter-measures prove to be. [Age adjusted of course...]

What the hell do you think people here are doing? Acting like Rudy Goebert and touching everything in site and trying to catch the virus?

Swine flu killed 12,000 in the first year USA

And, the government did nothing to stop it.

This is likely no worse and may have already swept through parts of the country and we've shutdown the country.

Maybe its better to overreact than see people die. But, at some point, there needs to be an exit plan to normalcy.

A retired Army friend sent me the following today, along with the front of the book and the page with this paragraph circled in red. MOST interesting:

By Dean Koontz. A book entitled “The eyes of darkness.” Published in 1981. On page 312 it says:

“In around 2020, a severe pneumonia like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attacking again ten years later, then disappear altogether.”

But they are only some weeks ahead in the virus rollout.

How do you know? We might END of the Corona cycle.

Adam Housley, formerly of Fox News, said he had talked to high ranking officials in both parties that said they believed the virus had already passed through parts of the country. That actually be consistent with the Ohio Department of Health's claim that 100,000 already had the virus. But, those 100,000 might be at the end of cycle.

Unless Housley is lying, those officials need to come forward and real journalists need to investigate his claim.
