Wonder why didn’t the FR Corvid fan club not post this?
covid-19 cases are reported or confirmed. not estimated figures as per CDCs annual figures. anyone extrapolating mortality rate from the covid-19 figures is exaggerating/hyping the situation, and adding to the panic. why? for political or commercial reasons perhaps:
also note change in methodology after Donald Trump became President:
CDC: What was the 2017-2018 flu season like?
The 2017-2018 influenza season was a high severity season with high levels of outpatient clinic and emergency department visits for influenza-like illness (ILI), high influenza-related hospitalization rates, and elevated and geographically widespread influenza activity for an extended period. In 2017, CDC began using new methodology to classify seasonal severity and applied the methodology to the 2003-2004 through 2016-2017 seasons. The 2017-18 season was the first season to be classified as a high severity across all age groups...

estimated:
CDC: Estimated Influenza Illnesses, Medical visits, Hospitalizations, and Deaths in the United States 20172018 influenza season
The overall burden of influenza for the 2017-2018 season was an estimated 45 million influenza illnesses, 21 million influenza-associated medical visits, 810,000 influenza-related hospitalizations, and 61,000 influenza-associated deaths

estimated:
CDC: Estimated Influenza Illnesses, Medical visits, Hospitalizations, and Deaths in the United States 20182019 influenza season
Introduction
For the past several years, CDC has estimated the numbers of influenza illnesses, medical visits, hospitalizations, and deaths...
CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 20182019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza...
Limitations
These estimates are subject to several limitations...

and, if you ESTIMATE covid-19:
6 Mar: Gateway Pundit: HHS Assistant Secretary: Estimates of Coronavirus Mortality Rate Somewhere between .1% and 1% Or Similar to a Flu Virus (VIDEO)
by Jim Hoft
On Thursday HHS Assistant Secretary Admiral Brett Giroir told reporters,
The best estimates now of the overall mortality rate for COVID-19 is somewhere between 0.1% and 1%. Thats lower than you heard probably in many reports
its not likely in the range of 2 to 3%.
This puts coronavirus on par with a typical flu epidemic to something slightly higher NOT something like a SARS or MERS virus with a much higher mortality rate.

Democrats are devastated over this good news.
Relatively useless information unless the race, age and underlying medical conditions of those dying are revealed. The CDC and WHO have the data but are refusing to release it.
In spite of the babbling of government bureaucrats, the fatality rate is 3.46%. 109747 cases, 3802 deaths = 3.46%
Don;t confuse the "it's just like the flu!" crowd with hard, objective data. They hate that, and it ruins all the fun they are having claiming it's just a MSM and Dem conspiracy to get rid of Trump..
May be? MAY BE? Really? After you scared everyone senseless already by not giving truthful stats and background of those dying (already bad sick, or very elderly)? The media needs to pay for what they’ve done.
Earlier today someone posted a report by the CEO of a virus research institute who claims the Wuhan virus is the worst most dangerous virus he’s ever seen. He said that up to 70% of the planet would become infected and as many as 10% would require hospitalization and half will die.
Wonder how much that 8.3 BILLION DOLLARS of gov’t (our) money influenced his learned opinion? Hmmm?
I explained in another thread why that statistic is extremely misleading. This video also explains why.
If you think the WHO statistic means 3.4% of people who get it will die, then you completely misunderstand the statistic because it only counts confirmed cases. There are drastically more infections than confirmed cases, the amount of testing being done is shockingly small. They only tend to test the more advanced cases
They hate Trump and so helped facilitate a near economic meltdown. Some people must be held responsible for this.
And the Dems are bummed. Clearly, they want massive casualties. Sad, I know.
“Wonder why didnt the FR Corvid fan club not post this?”
FReeper the-sky-is-falling chicken little, nattering nabobs of negativism coronavirus alarmists are greatly saddened by such good news ...
” the fatality rate is 3.46%”
Rate to date, but it’s silly to think those numbers coming from other nations are expected of ours.
1% is 7x the typical flu. Worst flu years in the US are about .14%
The Admiral is projecting that there are more than 200,000 additional cases that are mild and are not confirmed through testing.
Since only very sick people are getting tested, and very sick people are obviously more likely to die, I can believe that this is true.
The bigger questions are how widely is it spreading, and how fast.
Harvard’s leading epidemiologist and Director of their Infectious Disease department estimates infection rates of 40-70% globally within the next year.
Then, there’s the WHO’s leading biostatistician who estimates 80% of the world population will be infected.
But I’m sure these guys just received some of the $8.3B money from Pelosi and Schumer and want to just “get Trump”, so are lying out their patookies to scare us all and get Biden elected. < / s>
YES!!! EXACTlY
Plus, of the 109K cases about 50K are still sick, and some of them will die. This idiot is putting lipstick on a pig.
When epidemiologists can be debunked by economists, look for the political / social control reasons why.
