While the bill makes no specific mention of Nazi war crimes, it declares visa applicants affiliated with totalitarian movements ineligible. Arguably, Soros illegitimately procured his visa. And, having done so, he can be denaturalized, and then treated as a deportable alien under the Holtzman Amendment.

Aliens can be deported from the United States, not based on current deportability rules, but those under which they were admitted. In Soros’ case, those would be the 1952 rules of the INA. ..."

The thing that infuriates people about Soros and his actions in that time period is he seems quite proud of it.
Where a normal persons response would be ‘I did what I had to do to survive!’.

George showed up in Hungary after WWII with a bunch of artwork of unknown provenance, the working capital for his empire.

You would need evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that he knowingly falsified his immigration and citizenship paperwork, and evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that he actually was an active collaborator in the Holocaust.

For a teenage Jewish boy in Hungary in 1939-1945 that is going to be difficult at best. If you are going to accuse a Jewish man of assisting in the Holocaust, you had darn well have proof, and a lot of it.

The thing I don’t understand is how he escapes extradition for all the financial/securities fraud crimes he has committed in other countries. For example he was convicted of securities fraud in France, but it seems there’s been no attempt to extradite him to face the music.

He’s potentially deportable. At the very least, it’s worth an inquiry. He can explain it to an EOIR judge. Specifically, what did he a) leave out on his visa application and b) did he actually lie on that form?

Like everyone else here, I am no fan of George Soros. But I have yet to see even one legitimate source that proves he was a collaborator, let alone a Nazi.

But I have seen a ton of goofy articles that claim - without proof - that Soros was a Nazi. One site even claimed he was a member of the elite Waffen SS. They might as well claim he was Hitler’s personal bodyguard while they’re at it.

On this, he was an early teen in a dangerous time and place and not actually cooking people or anything. You just can’t realistically go back and convict someone for a crime in their youth 75 years ago, who wasn’t under your jurisdiction and didn’t actually commit any war crimes.
