A normal person would jump at the chance to live in Grand Junction instead of DC. Almost enough to make me wish i wasnt retired.

Move ALL Federal agencies to the major geographic centers of the areas they administer.
HUD goes to Detroit & Baltimore.
DOD goes to the South & Adak, Alaska.
Federal agency conventions and big meetings go to cities with affordable hotels & restaurants.
(who says you can’t trim the number of Federal employees?)

Exactly!
When this corona virus calms down, many businesses will be even more invested inTeleconferencing. They will save a great deal of money. Whether government agencies will also use more teleconferencing remains to be seen because Government agencies spend other peoples money when they have meetings at fancy resorts.

You are right. The DOE produces nothing. Private sector does not need help producing energy.
