A normal person would jump at the chance to live in Grand Junction instead of DC. Almost enough to make me wish i wasn’t retired.

“The lands I manage are out West but my job is in DC!”

“That’s okay. We’ll move you out there, along with a lot of other staff, so you can manage the lands on-site.”

“DO WHAT?!?!?”

Move ALL Federal agencies to the major geographic centers of the areas they administer.

HUD goes to Detroit & Baltimore.

DOD goes to the South & Adak, Alaska.

Federal agency conventions and big meetings go to cities with affordable hotels & restaurants.

(who says you can’t trim the number of Federal employees?)

Exactly!

When this corona virus calms down, many businesses will be even more invested inTeleconferencing. They will save a great deal of money. Whether government agencies will also use more teleconferencing remains to be seen because Government agencies spend other peoples money when they have meetings at fancy resorts.
