“...But the wives were looking at the extras ....”
Curious!
Specifically what?
The EPA needs to be relocated to Wainwright, Alaska.
Sinclair Wyoming? I’ll have to look it up.
Reminds me, I haven’t seen a Sinclair gas station in years. I remember the dino dollars game contest decades ago at Sinclair stations. There was a time when gas stations had contests and giveaways such as steak knives, to get you to get gas from their station. Many even gave out S & H green stamps.
This is a plan that should be executed across ALL DC FED AGENCIES. Move them to areas outside DC so they become more associated with the citizens of America
Good! Anyone at BLM unwilling to live outside a dense elitist urban area had no business working at BLM.
I think somewhere in the middle of this...was a payscale hit. Grand Junction for a GS13 was $88k (starting out) and for DC ($103k).
More good news. I’m still not tired of winning.
I’ve been advocating the dispersal of government agencies to smaller towns outside of the Beltway.
It would be great for National Security as targets would be dispersed and our infrastructure and personnel necessary to continue the government in a National Emergency would be enhanced.
And assorted Deep State folks who decline to move from DC would be replaced by citizens from other regions which would solve some of the Deep State mischief
I hadn’t thought of the national security angle. Thanks.
Will anyone know they’re gone?
LOL! I’m sure all those they “collaborate across disciplines” with will miss them dearly.
That angle makes it more plausible than merely wounding the Deep State bureaucracy.
Starting with BLM is smart because you have the reason of putting the agency and it’s separate subdivisions out in the field where they are needed as experts to deal with the people they affect.
The reality is that you could RIF 1/3 of every government worker at every level and the country would be better off.

Having worked in the FG for almost 30 years, I can confirm that you are absolutely correct.
It’s such a popular place, the saying goes in the industry “I spent a couple of years there one summer/ winter. It’s only passable I’d your the outdoor type, and even then it can be a test. Those who require others for entertainment or interaction don’t do well there.
There is a lonely little stretch of I-15 from Beaver (hometown of Butch Cassidy) to Nephi, Utah where the best priced gas is in a little town called Kanosh, a short detour off I-15.
It is a delightful little town with an elaborate cemetery, a cute general store, a huge Mormon church and Sinclair station with cheap gas 24/7. During business hours, a grizzled but friendly old man will even step out and pump it for you. But you can self service buy with a credit card after hours.
If you have time, he will tell you tales of the town (headquarters for the Kanosh Band of the Piute Tribe) when Mormons and Red men worked together to build a thriving community on the road from Fillmore (then the Territorial Capital) to California, roughly the route of today's I-15. Thus, the elaborate large cemetery in such a small town.
The goal all along was to reduce headcount. It was successful.
