It is often mistranslated in the Western media as “God is great,” but its actual meaning is “Allah is greater,” meaning Allah Is Greater Than Your God or Government. It is an aggressive declaration that Allah and Islam are dominant over every other form of government, religion, law, or ethic, which is why Islamic jihadists in the midst of killing infidels so often shout it.

I heard this on my last visit to Israel. Loudspeakers everywhere playing much louder than the need to be. It’s not a call to prayer, it’s a shout of dominance. You cant get away from it.

It WAKES YOU UP, why should that be allowed?? I’ve been in IndoNESIA, as Obama put it, and heard the “call to prayer” he loved so much, and it wasn’t “the most beautiful sound I’v heard”, it was just awful, and intrusive as all get out. Horrid.
