The Trump administration stunned Democrat lawmakers and immigration advocacy groups Wednesday, announcing it will waive federal contracting laws to greatly speed up construction of a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The Department of Homeland Security said waiving procurement regulations will allow 377 miles of new wall to be built far more quickly in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The 10 waived laws include requirements for having open competition, justifying selections and receiving all bonding from a contractor before any work can begin.
By one estimate, the time to complete this huge section of wall could be cut by 80% due to this unprecedented maneuver.
The acting Homeland Security secretary, Chad Wolf, is exercising authority under a 2005 law -- then passed with bipartisan support -- that gives him sweeping powers to waive laws for building border barriers.
Since that time, of course, Democrats have changed their tune on a border wall. But it's too late -- the law is in place, and Trump is taking full advantage of it!

President Trump knew that it was unreasonable and unsafe for the US economy to be so dependent on China. He was ridiculed for his tariffs which now appear to have prevented a major economic catastrophe due to US companies moving their operations out of China over the past couple years.
Last night, Melissa Francis from FOX Business Network, was on Tucker Carlson Tonight and she shared this observation:
Because he [President Trump] started this trade war that was costing companies money, they went out and set up different ways that, well maybe we can get this from here, here’s our second, maybe we’ll do this if it [the trade war] doesn’t get solved, and companies have either moved or found a different way…
…But it’s ironic that President Trump sort of warned us about this relationship and as usual faced so much ridicule over it and now we see yet another reason why we shouldn’t be totally dependent on this one country for so many things...

The author also talks about Henry Kaiser and the Liberty ships, and what they had to overcome. They were looking for a site, and found the huge mud flats in Richmond and said “We’ll build HERE.”

Trump put himself in the breach.
But unlike the “Forlorn Hope” of yesteryear, he has several million of us with him, ready to go to war if need be.
Would be interesting to understand if that is the case why his department and Durham’s operation still haven’t interviewed key witnesses into the 5th year of the start of the crimes, given that there is a 5-year statute of limitations that they have just about run the clock out on.
We’ve had a series of court decisions that have greatly strengthened his hand!

Just watched the video on TV...that is some operation! I agree with your disagreement of the guy’s final statement about giving illegals a path to citizenship. They’re lawbreakers and shouldn’t be allowed US citizenship.
It’s funny, but I watched a movie on Netflix just last night...”Fronteras”. It was kinda cheesy, but it involved illegal immigrants/drugs pouring across the southern border. Though filmed in Tucson AR, it still left me with the impression of a very desolate place.

Your friends probably only consume anti-Trump media and have heard thousands of times that he is a racist etc but nothing about all the good he is doing for all Americans. The three networks devoted 10, 15 and 19 seconds to Trump’s India trip.
Flipping the Ninth Circuit Court is MONUMENTAL! And rulings coming out of there are already favorable to Constitutional government.
What about the obvious rust on the fence already? Won’t that just slowly destroy the wall?
