You know politics have gotten weird when a liberal New York Times columnist begs Democrat voters to abandon Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in favor of nominating Michael Bloomberg to lead the Democratic ticket. Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman wrote a wacky Feb. 11, op-ed headlined Paging Michael Bloomberg. In the piece, Friedman suggested Bloomberg, owner of Bloomberg News, was more capable of appealing to independents, moderate Republicans and suburban women than self-proclaimed democratic socialist Sanders. Friedman was determined to get Democrats not to nominate Sanders: Please, Democrats, dont tell me you need Sanderss big, ill-thought-through, revolutionary grand schemes to get inspired and mobilized for this election. [Emphasis added.]

yes, nominate a billionaire elitist liberal control freak.
I can’t recall Friedman being correct about anything in so many years it escapes counting! Why any media outlet would keep such a flake writer on its staff is beyond comprehension
There is no such thing as a Moderate Democrat
There are the honest Democrats who tell you straight up what their agenda is
There are the Democrats who lie about their agenda to get elected.
Moderate progressive ? How do these 2 words go together ?
Sanders/Klobuchar, so would that be the red/airhead ticket?
In perspective, Bloomberg is a NE liberal who’s recent signature move as been harsh gun control and who’s historical footprint was to violate NYC mayoral term limits by fiat.
His disposition, stature and voice will render him annoying and hard to gravitate toward. His policies will not play well in the rust belt, his origins in NY will not play well in the South, his term as NYC mayor will not play well with minorities and his financial data company wealth will not play well with the Socialists.
He’s not getting there.....
Sanders/Buttigieg
Feel the Butt Bern!
Bloomberg = Doomsberg for the Republic
How about adding all those liberal descriptions: Moderate Progressive Centrist Liberal Socialist since they don’t know what they really are.
There is no such animal as a “moderate Progressive”.
It might be slower, or faster, but the objective is always the same - move to left, move the goalposts, and move left again. Repeat until you fall over the cliff.
Little Gulp Doomsberg
The Clintons will be or are now on board with this guy.
I get Thomas Friedman and Paul Krugman mixed up. Both are economists who get everything wrong and get to use the New York Times for a soapbox.
They gotta get that “moderate” word in there, which he ain’t.
The guy must not read The New York Times carefully.
Black voters simply won’t be able to stomach Mayor Stop and Frisk for reasons given by Charles Blow in a NYT article linked to earlier today.
Bloomberg should just write me a large check and call it quits to get better value for his money.
“Moderate progressive”...that’s like “tallest dwarf”.
