American left must know that the Iranian Regime they are support have itself lost support among Middle Easts civilian population
American leftists don't care about that - the Iranian regime is opposed to the US, therefore American leftists support the Iranian regime.

The overthrow of the Shah’s regime in 1978-79 by Islamic fundamentalists seemingly had so much to do with Soviet financial and moral support of Khomeini and his people. The Soviets knew that the Shah (very much anti Communist) was in ill health (he died in 1980) and ever since Mossadegh was done away with in 1953, they were champing to get influential there once again. You add in the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and you get a much sharper picture of their ambitions in that region.

Lets be fair. The Left is a collection of tyrant wannabees. They support dictators and attack every freedom we have here in the US.
