I have not been able to access the site for the most of the evening. It was working fine all day, but once the State of the Union speech started, the site was inaccessible. I thought it might be my Safari browser, but all the other sites I went to worked just fine. No pages on FR would load. I watched the speech via the White House’s YouTube link with no problem, but FR was dead. I don’t do facebook, but checked FR’s account there to see if anyone else was having the same problem. I just checked it again, and someone finally posted asking if FR was down. I dumped my FR cookies and cache, restarted my laptop, but the problem still persists. I finally opened Firefox, but that took eons to load FR, and at least now, seeing your post, I know it wasn’t just me. This evening reminded me of years ago when any time something important, like the SOTU speech, debates, conventions, election night, etc., was going on, FR would go down.

Could be a DDoS attack. Could be especially heavy traffic, given that Rush received the medal. (As an aside, Rush looked a little pale and a bit unsteady tonight - I know, treatment will do that to you - but he seemed genuinely shocked and humbled when he was told he was being given The Presidential Medal of Freedom. You couldn’t fake the emotion on his face, no matter how good an actor you are. Somehow, I think they kept the news from him right up to the SOTU. Bravo, Mr. President.)

Slow for me, too. Thought it might be a problem with wi-fi on the cruise ship, but I guess not. Seems that some nefarious entity hits us when there are special current events happening.
