Jazz Jennings's Doctors Revealed Her Gender Confirmation Complications Were 'Severe'

Jazz Jennings has had a tougher transition than her doctors expected. In the last two years, the teen reality star and LGBTQ+ activist has undergone multiple gender confirmation surgeries, and her doctors are now revealing more details about what went wrong in the new season of TLC's I Am Jazz, People reported.

In the episode clip, Jazz's doctors, Marci Bowers, MD, and Jess Ting, MD, speak to Jazz and her family about the previous surgeries. Bowers admits Jazz “has had a very difficult surgical course,” in the show. “She had a very incredible first surgery—it went seemingly very well, but there were problems. And that prompted a second surgery, which I was not a part of, unfortunately.”

“Taking Jazz on as a patient for surgery, we knew it was going to be a one-of-a-kind surgery,” Ting explained in the clip. “We don’t have the experience of having said we’ve done 50 of these. I was just not expecting her to have a complication as severe as what she did have.”

This idiots parents put it in the position it now finds itself in. By letting him start hormones so early it shut off ay normal development and now it’s too late for any choice that will work. Neither male or female at this point.

David Foster Wallace once wrote a piece about David Lynch. In the piece, he coined a new term: "Lynchian". Wallace described a Lynchian tone as "the unbelievably grotesque existing in a kind of union with the unbelievably banal.

He described a husband beating his 1950s housewife to death because she bought the wrong brand of peanut butter. "I told you to buy the JIF," he'd say as he's clobbering her to death. This, he said, would qualify as almost perfectly Lynchian.

I think "I Am Jazz" enters into Lynchian territory. The .webm above shows a simple domestic scene. The women look like average suburban moms. They're relaxing on the couch. One imagines they might be discussing casserole recipes when we cut to them. But it slowly dawns on us that in the living room, with placid expressions on their faces, they're talking about the woman's transvestite son's genitals.

Despite the obvious subtext and the producers' hope to normalize this horror, the average person is totally disgusted. Nevertheless, the viewer is fascinated. We're drawn further into this. The sheer naked horror of what they're saying, the blasé quality with which they're saying it, it creates this brutal paradox that almost rapes the viewer's basic sense of what is decent.

Apologies for my ignorance, but, is that photograph of the real family?

If so, body language wise - the transgendered child is clearly a part from everyone else in the picture, but especially, apart from the mother.

So very sad, all of it. Allowing a child less than five years old to chart the course of entire their life based upon their toddler feelings, and perceptions of the world.

This is a sad situation because Jazz (Real name Jared) was put on puberty blockers at an early age.

Jared's parents should be in prison for child abuse.

I would say in his case, it would be an act of mercy. From this point forward, each new day will be worse than the previous day. In a just world, his parents and the doctors that destroyed his life and surgically mutilated him would either be hanged by the neck until dead or locked up in prison for life.
