As infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists race to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus centered on Wuhan, China, they’re getting back up that’s been possible only since the explosion in genetic technologies: a deep-dive into the DNA of the virus known as 2019-nCoV.
Analyses of the viral genome are already providing clues to the origins of the outbreak and even possible ways to treat the infection, a need that is becoming more urgent by the day: Early on Saturday in China, health officials reported 15 new fatalities in a single day, bringing the death toll to 41. There are now nearly 1,100 confirmed cases there.
More bad news came in as expert claimes that deadly coronavirus can be spread through the EYES after he contracted the disease, despite wearing a protective mask.

Dr. Wang Guangfa has now theorized the similar coronavirus may be transmitted through the eye after testing positive following an eye infection.
Mr. Wang was a leading figure in the fight against SARS virus that gripped China in 2003.
The doctor now says he believes he contracted the virus due to not donning protective eyewear.

Suggestion : wrap around sunglasses, goggles, shooting glasses - anything that prevents ambient air intrusion, and has a tight fit to the face.
An N-95 or better face mask are still thought to be effective for viral particulate
intrusion into oral, nasal, and lung mucosa.
There is still much to be learned about this virus, and realize that it is still mutating.
Avoid eye contact with anyone suspected of coronavirus.
The only type of mask that actually protects you from things is a scba system, a self contained breathing apparatus that is completely independent of surface supplied air. You get into and out of it in a clean room and depending on where you were, may require decon in changeover.
While a simple face mask may be effective in blocking splashes and large-particle droplets, depending upon which one like the N95.....a facemask, by design, does not filter or block very small particles in the air that may be transmitted by coughs, sneezes or certain medical procedures like viruses. There are no antibiotic for viruses so a coated filter wouldn’t work either.
It’s kind of like the flu shots you get told to take each year. They contain some assistance to as much as 7 strains of flu while there are over 200 come through each year in many areas. Just hope and try to assist in not being infected by staying away from it. Good luck.

“Mythbusters” did a segment on that a few years ago. It was interesting and disturbing. As everyone knows now, it proved that coughing and sneezing into your elbow or shoulder is the best. Holding a tissue over your mouth was basically useless.

I’ve always heard that any “bug” can get in through the eyes as well as nose and mouth.
I generally have a cast iron stomach; but have had problems with some encapsulated herbal things and some supplements.
Obviously, the only thing to do that is effective is to have a doctor put you in to a medically-induced coma and then a cryogenic container until this is over. Bye.
I assume that is oregano EO mixed with vegetable oil; straing Eo would dissolve the capsule immediately.
